Has anybody else dealt with this?? Because it's totally kicking my ass. I started feeling tingling/numbness in my upper thigh around 14 weeks or so, and it has steadily progressed from annoying, to irritating, to painful, to now excruciating. I'm walking with a limp after standing or walking for 5 minutes. It's such an intense burning pain with a much sharper stabbing pain when it's at its worst.
I mentioned the numbness at my 16 week appointment and got kind of brushed off. I'm 20 weeks now and have my appt Wed, but I'm going to call tomorrow morning because I can't take it! I am a kindergarten teacher and on my feet a lot!

Have you considered seeing a chiropractor or acupuncturist? They may be able to help your symptoms. Unfortunately, a lot of things like that won't go away until after you have the baby. I had gestational carpal tunnel and it was awful.
I had this a few years ago, but it wasn't painful, just numb. It lasted about 9 months before sensation gradually returned. The lateral femoral cutaneous nerve runs very superficial at the crease between your belly & thigh, so it's easy to get compressed. Try & make sure your pants aren't too tight when you sit down & making it worse. It's most likely unfortunate pregnant shit from your belly, & will go away after delivery. Sorry I don't have better news for you!

Bummer! It all started before I even had a belly or gained hardly any weight, so I'm nervous about what the next 4 months are going to bring. I will try a chiro or acunpuncture, I think.
I've had this condition for years, although mine is also the burning numb sensation. Flare ups can be caused by: weight gain, sitting too long, too much time on your feet, and pants that cut into your waste/hip. I've tried chiro (didn't really work), targeted massage (temporary relief), acupuncture (relief but expensive), and specialized physical therapy (seems to help). I'm six months pregnant now, PM me if you want to talk.
