Awww, she's precious! What a scary delivery, but thank goodness she's okay. Hope breastfeeding gets easier for you guys, and enjoy that glass of wine! Maybe you should drink an extra one for me.
Congrats on your little girl! DS2 was also born "stunned" and it was scariest moment of my life. I still feel sick to my stomach when I think about his birth. I'm so sorry you had to experience that but I'm glad it looks like you'll all be home together soon!
Thanks everyone! Annika was discharged this afternoon and we're all home now, which feels very good.
I finally met with an LC today and she said A has a little bit of a tongue tie, which is probably making it very difficult for her to latch. (I remember Stingyshark recently went though this?) Anyway, it sounds very easily fixed, if it indeed is an issue. We have an appointment with our pediatrician tomorrow so hopefully we'll find out more then. In the meantime I'm pumping enough to keep up with her, so that works for now.

Good luck with the pedi appointment! Our friends' daughter had a tongue tie, and it took them a long time to identify the problem. Once their doctor diagnosed it, it was very easily fixed.
Congratulations! I'm so glad you got to bring her home! Your NICU experience sounds so much like what my sister experienced after her baby had swallowed some fluid at birth. They kept finding things "wrong," extending the stay, which was really frustrating for us. I'm glad you are now home where you can get better support!

There are several of us with breastfeeding issues, that's for sure! DS had his tongue tie clipped at 5 days old. He made a face and fell right back to sleep (but he was a generally sleepy preemie). Our pedi was unsure but referred us to the ENT who did it. Now another LC found a lip tie that the ENT won't fix without anesthesia. So Friday we're going to yet another ENT for a 2nd opinion.
None of it was checked for until I said something. So make them check her whole mouth!
And congrats! I'm glad you all made it home healthy.
