I've been on bed rest now for 2 weeks and still have quite a long ways to go. I hadn't seen any posts about it, but was wondering if anyone else here is dealing with this.
I had a cerclage at 21 weeks when they discovered I had a shortened cervix with funneling, then it got a bit better, but then it shortened again so the doctors have me on modified bed rest and progesterone supplements. I've been holding steady with my weekly measurements since then, but it isn't getting longer (and isn't likely to) so ill probably be on bed rest for quite a bit more.
If you are on it, or were in the past, or know someone who has been - any tips on making it through?
I'm not on bedrest, but I have been told not to go to work. I'm still doing some work from home, but also trying to spend as much time as possible just sitting on the couch and/or taking naps. How much movement are you allowed? Any interest in learning a new skill - a language through Rosetta Stone or knitting or crocheting or something? Writing the great American novel? Books and TV and the internet of course. When my wife is home I get her to bring me things to sort and we're working on a craft project for the nursery (a felt board with felt animals on it).
Thanks everyone! I still get some movement, shower, bathroom breaks, grabbing a quick lunch, but otherwise, generally on the couch all day.
I've been knitting and I ordered some craft supplies to make some stuff for the baby room. I'm also doing a little bit of work from home (which is stressful, since I I don't work, I don't get paid since I was part time hourly) so that my half of the income doesn't completely go away. I've also been able to watch lots of the Olympics, but now that they are over, it looks like netflix andi will become close friends.
daisycat Hey there, I've been on bed rest for about 8 weeks now. I'm pregnant with twins and my blood pressure jumped suddenly so they were worried about pre eclampsia. I had protein in my urine so bed rest it is. Anyways, I'm 33 weeks now and bored out of my mind! I go between playing on my phone/kindle, reading, and watching a lot of Hgtv lol. I guess I'm not much help but all I keep telling myself is this too shall pass lol. At this point with twins I'm too uncomfortable to do much anyways
