I lost 15 lbs through WW before this pregnancy. I have always been a fairly normal eater. Lots of grilled chicken. Love vegetables. Don't indulge in a ton of carbs or sweets. Well since I started feeling sick my eating habits have been terrible. I don't think I have cooked once. We eat out a lot. The only things I can stomach the thought of eating are carbs, cereal, pizza and yogurt. It's bad. Because of this, I think I have gained like 6-9 lbs back. None of my pants fit comfortably and the pressure of my pants is making my stomach more upset. I've tried the rubber band trick and a bella band. Neither are much relief. So I think I have 2 options. Size up in regular pants or buy maternity pants. On one hand I hate to buy regular pants tat I won't be able to wear for much longer, on the other I don't know anyone who was in maternity pants at 10 weeks. So WWYD? Thanks!
Maternity pants, all the way. You will not regret it. (The other option is if you held onto your old fat pants, those will probably tide you over for a few weeks. I wouldn't go out and buy new pants a size up at this point, though.)
And don't feel bad about weight gain in the first tri. It doesn't sound like you're eating with reckless abandon, you're surviving. Hopefully you'll feel better soon and your weight gain will even itself out. Mine did.
I was in maternity pants at 9 weeks this time. I say go for maternity pants.
Although, I will say that if you size up, you will probably be able to use that pair of pants post-partum until you go back to your pp weight/size. It's nice to have things in a variety of sizes.
Definitely maternity pants. Long term, you'll need them. And they're pretty awesome. I was in maternity pants really early too, ain't no shame in my pregnancy game lol
Maternity pants! I am already wearing maternity cargo trousers and when I get paid on Friday I will be buying maternity jeans. And that will be my staple wardrobe with maternity leggings and dresses for a while.
I have 2 pairs of maternity jeans from my pregnancy in August/September, unfortunately I ate my way through my miscarriage so they no longer fit. So annoying because they are still practically brand new.

I was going to suggest that if you DID buy regular size pants it wouldn't be the end of the world since you'd have them for post partum. That's what I did last time.
Now I'm still in that size so I'm not 100% sure what I'll do. I guess it's a good thing that I was *almost* at the point where I could fit my next size down pants when I got pregnant. I don't think I'm far enough along to wear the oh so comfy maternity pants - right now I think my bump is gas & fat.

Maternity pants for sure. And don't be surprised if in a few weeks you're able to fit back in your regular clothes for a least a little while. There's kind of a sweet spot between when the bloat goes down and the bump comes up.

I seriously love you ladies. I am going to grab some after work. I sort of just want to cry. And puke. And sleep through the first tri. LOL. I feel like this will be a huge relief!
I would go maternity pants. I personally didn't need one-size-up pants after having my son. I wore maternity pants for a few days, or stretchy stuff, then got back in my regular jeans the next week. Just a thought. (No offense to those that couldn't do that - just another perspective, and a benefit of a gigantic baby at 9lbs 10oz )
Maternity pants! I also lost weight prior to getting pregnant. I lost 40 lbs in 2012. It was disheartening that early in my pregnancy I was so sick. I could only keep down carbs. No vegetables or meat. I even threw up Greek yogurt when I tried it. I knew when I got pregnant I would be so healthy except this baby has had another idea. Now in my second trimester I'm feeling better and I'm happy to keep my normal foods down. I'm staying active by doing prenatal yoga and spin.
I'm 14w6d and I've worn maternity pants to work for the last 3 weeks and I'm not ashamed about it. My normal work pants were way too tight. Since I lost weight I bought everything to fit and I gave away all of my old clothes. I wasn't going to buy bigger pants when really I needed comfortable pants. I just bought a size up in maternity to hopefully last throughout my entire pregnancy.

You are so right about that. Today I'm wearing a pre-pregnancy outfit and I'm so excited about it. Lol!

I'd say maternity too. I'm 14 weeks and just ordered my first pair. Actually they arrived today and I'm excited to go home and try them on. I have some "fat pants" but feel like they just don't fit right.
Also agree with everyone else. There were some days that nothing would fit and I felt like a whale during first tri and other days I could wear my skinny jeans and felt great. Some of it is probably bloat and will fluctuate.

I definitely say get maternity pants too, you will need them anyway. I bought some cheap ones from ON and was wearing them around 10 weeks. I didn't necessarily need them, but it was nice to wear something comfy. And I wore them on Thanksgiving for the very reason that I knew I would eat a lot and wanted lots and lots of room
Definitely get some maternity pants. I waited quite a while, but when I started wearing them I wondered why I waited so long. They are so comfy and take all the pressure off the belly.
Maternity pants all the way. I was in them by 8 weeks. Keep in mind that you are carrying a lot of bloat right now too, so it may not all be from your eating. You may get a little relief soon, but I'd still go for maternity since you'll need them eventually. You have enough to deal with with your symptoms -- don't let your clothes be yet another source of discomfort!
Maternity pants! I bought one size bigger jeans, and then maternity jeans about two weeks later...I would have been much happier making the switch right away
Don't feel bad about the carbs!! Many pg women can only live on carbs in the first tri or longer. Your weight very well could be associated with pg-induced growth vs. Carbs anyway.
Go for the maternity pants! I waited way too long to start wearing maternity clothes! Although at this point my maternity jeans are getting to be uncomfortable, I can only wear them when I run out to do errands and have to put my sweats back on when I get home.
I wore maternity pants yesterday at 10 weeks 6 days. They are life changing! Why aren't all pants this comfy?
I did buy a new pair of black jeans at Old Navy for $19. I know I will be able to wear them after the baby. I'm hoping they last me a few weeks. I bought a pair of black maternity jeans & I don't like them.
Ditto everyone else. If the pressure of your regular pants is making you feel even more nauseaus, you will get instant relief with maternity pants. I HATE maternity pants, but any pressure on my belly is really uncomfortable and makes me feel a bit sick. You will want to cry with relief when you put on a pair of maternity pants.
Another vote for maternity pants! I did have some pants from when I was about 10 pounds heavier, and those helped tide me over. But I love my maternity pants. I kind of want to keep wearing them even after I have the baby.
Maternity pants/jeans all the way. I don't know what your budget is, but I bought a pair of Joe's jeans from destination maternity last night and they are totally worth the splurge.

I have a pair of Citizen's that have been awesome and definitely worth the splurge (although I got them on sale for about 50% off). They are starting to cut into my lower abdomen and are getting uncomfortable though.

Late to the game on this one, but definitely maternity pants. I started wearing them around 9w. The bloat just made my regular fitted pants to uncomfortable - I didn't want anything digging into my stomach.
I've tried to wear regular pants a few times and hated it. I may never go back to regular pants after the baby comes, lol.

Also, if you haven't found them yet. Regular sized Old Navy Rockstar Skinny jeans are amazing. I bought some a size or two up from my regular size when I was pregnant to avoid muffin top and they still work at 21 weeks pregnant. Super stretchy, very flattering on all sizes and comfy.
