We havent booked anything yet for the summer. We have a trip planned for april to Florida so we are going to see how that goes before we decide what to do with summer.
10 hour flight with a 16 month old toddler. What the hell was I thinking?
So what are your holiday travel plans for the summer?
We are taking a big san diego trip in April, so we won't have a ton of money. We may do a week cabin camping in white mountains, NH. I will take 2 weeks of vacation in August, and we will prob do day trips.
We have weddings. One in Cleveland in June where we'll be taking just the baby, one in Cincy in August and then one in New Hampshire a week later, hopefully leaving all the kids with my inlaws for the last two, depending on how weaning goes.
We're talking about meeting some OOT friends at a lake and renting a house for a week, honestly, I see this being pushed back till next summer.
I really want to go to DC for a long weekend in May. We'd take just the baby, visit one of my best friends and hit up the Reds playing the Nationals. We have two reasons to be in KC - a baptism next month and my godson's birthday in April. Trying to convince DH that we should just jump in the car and go to one of them lol. Too bad KC doesn't equal warmer weather or I'd have an easier time convincing him.
We already did a family trip to Disney in January. Maybe a weekend at put-in-bay or Kelly's island as a family if the week at a lake house thing doesn't work out.
All typed out, we're busy this year! Not to mention, Hawaii with just DH in October.

Our "holiday" is a trip to England so that DS can meet his grandparents. Prices are (and have been) astronomical right now for flights to London, it's so annoying. I told DH that we can take DS until he turns two and then the two of them will have to go without me if airfare doesn't start to come down.
We're doing two weeks in OBX. First week with my two BFFs from high school, their husbands, and kids. I live in NY, one lives in IL, and the other lives in NC, so I'm so excited to have a whole week together. We may be crazy though, because it's going to be 6 adults, a 2.5 yo, a 13 month old, an 11 month old, and 7 month old twins. The second week is with our 3 best couple friends and their kids. So excited!
Oh, and a long weekend in August in Lake Placid for SIL's wedding.
We're going to Maine in July with some extended family. CAN NOT WAIT!!!! The family is a blast and I've never "really" been to Maine. So we're super excited. Driving up and stopping over in Boston and staying w/ a couple we met on our honeymoon almost 12 years ago.

We're going to Orlando for a week in July to meet our new niece. We're staying at a nice resort, but sharing a condo with my ILs, SIL, and two nephews so it's not going to feel partcularly vacation-like. At least there's a nice pool, and we may take DS to Disneyworld.

When are you guys going? I just spent $3100 for Easter, and we are going for Christmas too I just signed up for a Venture card and will use it for EVERYTHING from now on. That's the only way we're going to be able to swing frequent visits.
I think we're flying to Chicago to visit family and friends. I'll have to ask for recommendations from the locals on these boards - I've never been
I figure we can handle travel with a 5 month old - 2 against one, hehe. I wonder if I can fit the RnP in my suitcase? Do you bring a car seat when you travel? I guess I need the stroller. Holy cow, this will not be as easy as I thought. I'll ask questions as the trip approaches.
We are going on a cruise for a week in July. It wouldn't have been my first choice since DD is too young for the pools, but my grandparents are paying and taking the whole family. I'm hoping we can pawn DD off on my parents for a few hours here and there and relax.
We'll probably also spend a week in Delaware visiting family, so I hope to get in some beach days then.
Annual week in OBX in August. We usually go July 4th, but due to some miscommunication with the rental agency they let that week go before my mom could re-reserve. Hopefully my parents will buy something of their own down there soon enough, we're all tired of renting.
Probably a long weekend in Maryland at my parents at some point as well.
We have a lot of weddings & tentative plans this summer, but everything will remain up in the air so we can make last minute calls based on when baby arrives, how we are all feeling, etc.
Next "big trip" will hopefully be in November for my 30th bday.
We are being so indecisive about this. As a result of not planning anything, we'll probably just drive out to spend a 5 days or so in LA, with my parents, and then maybe some time in San Diego or something. We can't decide whether or not we're going to try and visit H's family in Australia this Christmas (which will be insanely expensive), but if we do, it's lowkey summer plans for us to save up. Also, we'd be crazy not to buy a seat for a 14 month old on a flight from LA to Sydney, right? It's worth the extra $2k to not hold a squirmy 1 year old in cramped conditions for 15 hours (30 if you count the ride back!), right?
We always spend the week of the Fourth of July at my family's lake cabin. Note to self: need to start researching infant life jackets for DD so we can take her in the boat this year!
We would like to go down to the cape for a few days at least but we will have to see. If my mom has moved out here by then and can come along and help I think we will be more inclined to go. Especially because then DH and I can get in a little alone time. Otherwise I fear two infants and a 2 yo will just be too much for me to actually enjoy it.

We bought our infant life jacket at Costco last Spring. Its awesome!
Nothing set in stone yet, but thinking about our first camping trip in Upstate New York. My parents are building a house in SC, so maybe down there to the beaches.
We are going to visit family in MI, and spending a few days on the lake. The number of vacation moments are often outweighed by seeing as many people as possible. In August, my friend is getting married in Ohio, so that will be fun. We did a lot of trips in 2013, so I feel better about the slow travel year.
