I have been thinking of getting a Target card but I'm worried about it's security considering the stolen financial info of Target customers. I know some of you have one. Are you worried?
Debit vs credit card, is one more secure than the other? I don't feel very comfortable linking my checking account for the debit card.
From what I understand credit is saver. I have the debit because of my history of poor credit decisions (see my budget) but if I could control myself I would be as comfortable with their credit card as any other credit card.

There is always concern when using a card, but all swiped information was compromised. Knowing that, I wouldn't use any card at Target if that was your concern. I'm not worried, but I do check my accounts online every morning and have for years.
Credit cards tend to have more protection associated with them. I have the debit card because I do not have/want a single store card. Linking the card to your account makes you more vulnerable if it is compromised.
I have the Target credit card. I like not having it tied to our checking account. I'm not really concerned since I only use that card at Target and if anything shows up on it I can dispute it. It's been great for free shipping and the 5% back.
I have a target credit card, but for target only (they also have one that's a regular credit card). I don't like the idea of having a card linked directly to my bank account. I like the 5% off and free shipping I get with it, and it that's breached I'm not overly concerned about crazy charges from Target. I'd notice them and would dispute them with Target (who should know about the security breach in most cases).
I have the debit card, I like that I didn't need to open another line of credit.
We actually just got a letter from Target this week that clarified that none of the debit cards were compromised, only credit. The PIN does make it pretty secure as long as you are careful with that number.

Ditto this. I didn't trust myself with a credit limit at Target! I love the free shipping from Target.com - it's one of my favorite Red Card perks.
I didn't have any sort of fraud on any of my accounts as a result of their breach.

Yup. I have the debit card and no complaints. It did longer than usual for my transaction to clear a few weeks ago but they said they were backlogged since the compromise happened.
