My dog has thrown up about 7 times in the last 4 hours. At first it was his dinner (3 times), the a little dinner with yellow liquid (2 times), now just yellow foam. He's not lethargic and has access to water but doesn't seem to be drinking it. What should I do? I'm worried and wondering it I should take him to the e-vet or just wait till the morning and see how he is. Anyone deal with this?
I didn't read all the responses, but once vomiting stops make sure to give your dog bland food in small quantities for the next meal or two. Their stomach linings can easily get irritated from the vomiting. Things like unflavored cooked chicken or rice work well.

Yes, good point. When my dog had his episode the dr told me to feed him white rice/boiled chicken/cottage cheese for a few meals. I do this now any time his digestive system seems a bit off. And he loves it
I keep checking back also. Hope he is on the mend!
They discharged him last night around 9:30 since he had kept his dinner down. I took him out to the bathroom at 3:00 AM and there was vomit all over the crate. I tried to feed him at 7:30 this morning and he refused to eat which he's never done in his life. I'm typing this from the e-vet. I'm starting to get annoyed. Vet #3 said if he had seen the X-ray that Vet#1 took, he would have done surgery. I know they were being cautious but I'm getting more and more worried that we're waiting too long since this started Thursday night.
Oh truthbomb Absolutely sending great thoughts & get well pup vibes!! And I know probably seems impossible, but please try to stop blaming yourself- of course you didn't take him in immediately. I thought you were being pretty proactive when you took him in when you did. So wipe that from your head as much as you can. Many hugs & great thoughts toward recovery!

Oh and we're supposed to get hit with a huge storm tonight and I told them that worried me as well since people here cannot drive or function well in snow. I'm worried about the doctors and staff getting in.
It sounds like it could be a blockage, what are they telling you about the X-rays?
It probably is a blockage. Even I saw it on the first X-Ray but Vet#1 here said it was inconclusive. Whatever it is, it probably moved downstream and is now stuck. They're taking another X-Ray now. I had already given them the money for surgery yesterday and then they refunded me when he was discharged so it wasn't even like I couldn't afford it. They had everything they needed and we're still waiting....

My heart goes out to you and your pup. I cannot believe they are dragging their feet on this.
