My dog has thrown up about 7 times in the last 4 hours. At first it was his dinner (3 times), the a little dinner with yellow liquid (2 times), now just yellow foam. He's not lethargic and has access to water but doesn't seem to be drinking it. What should I do? I'm worried and wondering it I should take him to the e-vet or just wait till the morning and see how he is. Anyone deal with this?
My dog does this every once in a while. Is he still throwing up? If it's slowing down/stopped and he seems ok apart from the vomit, he's most likely fine.

He threw up about 10 minutes ago, he hasn't since. He's laying in his bed but jumps out whenever I get up in hopes I'll let him out. He seems ok aside from the vomiting. Maybe I'll run out and get him some Pepto,
I'd probably bring him unless he drinks some water and keeps it down. Sounds similar to what happened to my dog, he ended up with gastroenteritis and on iv and overnight hospital stay. It can be fatal if not treated quickly

We're at the e-vet now. He threw up again twice after I posted. Thanks for the advice.

I'm glad you took him in. I hope he feels better soon.
They kept him at the e-vet over night. X-rays were inconclusive but they're thinking he ate something he shouldn't have. They are going to X-ray again at 11 AM then decide on surgery. He's still vomiting. My poor baby. I'm a mess.

I had the same happen to one of my dogs. They ended up pushing fluids throuh iv and she passed the item she ate. It was a brillo pad wrapped in ribbon... Crazy.
How scary, poor thing. Positive thoughts & vibes...
My dog, like escrow's, had a gastroenteritis (HGE) episode and was on an IV overnight It was so scary. This was when I learned my dog absolutely cannot digest anything rawhide.
Yep, I don't think my dog ate anything bad, he just has a really rough time digesting stuff, especially anything fatty. We have been extremely careful with what he eats since then and he has been healthy since. But even if we give him a piece of cooked chicken breast he is wrecked for days!
Ugh I'm sorry I'm glad you brought him in. Would surgery be cheaper at your regular vet vs the E-vet? Could you transfer him there?
I'm not sure if it would be cheaper. We've only lived here 3 months and have only seen his new vet once a couple of weeks ago for vaccines. Everyone says the staff is excellent at the e-vet and I like the idea of having someone there 24/7 monitoring him. I have pet insurance so they should cover some/most of the cost. I've paid 3k towards possible costs already, but I'll pay whatever is necessary. I was pissed they made me sign a waiver saying I would pay $300-$750 for CPR if needed. That seemed ridiculous to me.
Thank you for the kind T&Ps. He's still throwing up. They're going to do an ultrasound then decide about surgery. The X-rays are still inconclusive. My poor baby.
Oh poor doggy they have him on an iv right? Have they given him anything for nausea?
Yes, he's been on an IV. From my receipt from yesterday's charges it doesn't look like they gave him anything. They mentioned Pepcid but not sure if it was administered.
I've seen him twice today - before I went to work and after. He's still there. He's had 2 X-rays, an ultrasound, bloodwork etc. I've seen three different vets and they've all said slightly different things. I don't think they really know what caused it. They're going to call me tonight and let me know if he kept his dinner down.
