Oh and laundry confession: I do all the laundry, and DH likes for his jeans to be washed after every wear. That's insane and not going to happen. I typically just fold them, put them away, and tell him they've been washed. So really, he also goes about 5-6 wears. Bad wife.
My husband is the same way. I usually throw them in with other clothes in the dryer so that they are fluffed and smell like dryer sheets. He has no idea. It's not good for the jeans to be washed that often!

Ah, smart! He's never called me on it, but maybe I'll start doing this, too.

That's funny! My husband actually never wants me to wash his jeans. I just wash it when I wash mine.
How many times (or for how long) will you wear/use the following before it gets laundered or dry cleaned?
- Sheets - 7 nights - Comforter/duvet cover - once a season - Bath towel - 7 days - Kitchen towel - 3-4 days - A pair of jeans - Lots of uses. I don't like how tight they get after washing. I probably wear them 10 times - Gym clothes - I don't have BO when I work out, so I can get two uses out of them. - A cotton t-shirt - once - A suit - don't really wear suits, but I launder them when they start to smell - A formal dress - same as suit.
- Sheets - my bed- every 2 weeks. DD- depends on accidents - Comforter/duvet cover- a few times a year - Bath towel- weekly - Kitchen towel- weekly - A pair of jeans- every few weeks or so, but I rarely wear jeans - Gym clothes- 1x. gross. - A cotton t-shirt- summer- only wear once. Winter, maybe twice - A suit- a bunch of times, maybe 5-6 times? but I wear a suit maybe once a week - A formal dress- 1x because I inevitably will be drunk when worn and spill alcohol on myself.
You all make me feel really bad about using bath towels once.
I will never, ever understand this. Every time it comes up on this board (which, for some unfathomable reason, seems to be a couple of times a year) it boggles my mind that people do this. I mean, you're clean when you come out of the shower! And I can't imagine storing that many bath towels, though I guess some people do laundry so often that maybe you don't really have any more sets than I do, LOL.
We did this when I was growing up. It was just how things were. But when I moved out, I realized quickly that I didn't want to be washing all of those towels all the time!!
- Sheets - 2-4 weeks depending on how dirty it feels to me. But I'll only wash when there's 2 sets. - Comforter/duvet cover - You don't really need a comforter in FL so once a year? - Bath towel - 1-2 weeks. When it doesn't feel clean anymore. - Kitchen towel - Hand washed after each meal and toss into laundry once every other month. - A pair of jeans - 3-4x or the second they start smelling. - Gym clothes - 2-3x. I don't sweat that much. - A cotton t-shirt - I only wear around the house so 2-3x or when it starts to smell. - A suit - I haven't worn a suit in years though I have quite a few. They joys of being self employed. - A formal dress - I haven't worn one since my wedding. My life is pretty boring.
You all make me feel really bad about using bath towels once.
Than again, judging by the other poll, I still do much less laundry than most of you, so perhaps it's not so bad after all. lol
If I wasn't so lazy (which is why I do a lot of loads once a month lol)...or really if I had a live in maid, I would have my sheets and bath towels changed out daily. I love clean towels and sheets.
You all make me feel really bad about using bath towels once.
You only use a towel once? How many towels do you own?
Why? Cleanliness? Humidity?
OCD. It was just part of my regimen for probably about 10 years. I've got over that for the most part, but my years swiping DH's towels and throwing them in the washer rubbed off on him.
We probably have 20 towels, and we have a pretty big washer, and I refuse to buy the massively large towels, so it doesn't result in a lot of laundry.

- Sheets: 7-10 days - Comforter/duvet cover: wash every few weeks, basically whenever the dog has jumped on the bed with dirty paws - Bath towel: wash once a week - Kitchen towel: swap it out after 3 or so days, wash it with towels on the weekend. - A pair of jeans: 2 wearings unless I've been working in a dirty environment, then 1 wearing - Gym clothes: once - I get sweaty! - A cotton t-shirt: once - A suit: 2-3 times - A formal dress: a couple times, if it smells ok and isn't visably dirty, I'll spray it with Dryel.
- Comforter/duvet cover: A couple times per season? We have sheets/blankets b/t us and the duvet. I can't talk DH into just a duvet...in that case it would be weekly.
- Bath towel: Once or twice a week - Kitchen towel: Frequently: switch out several times a week. - A pair of jeans: 2-3 wears unless they're truly dirty (which is happening more now with kids...)
- Gym clothes: Ew! Every time w/o fail! - A cotton t-shirt: Each wear - A suit: 2-3 wears - A formal dress: After each wear...I wear them infrequently and don't want to store them in less than fully clean condition.

- Sheets : 1 week - Comforter/duvet cover : 4 times per year. - Bath towel : one week or more if its still wet when I need it again - Kitchen towel : 1 day, usually I use 2 per day - A pair of jeans : I'll wear them 3 times, Dh only wears them once - Gym clothes : after one use - A cotton t-shirt : 1x - A suit : no clue, H's gets cleaned once or twice a year - A formal dress : 1x?
There's a difference between how long I tend to let things go and how long I would let them go if I was feeling lazy. The following are averages.
Sheets - every other week Comforter - once a year Bath towel - two weeks Kitchen towel - a week. I don't really pay attention. when it looks gross or I use it to clean up a spill, I toss it in the laundry. Jeans - 4 times. Until they get saggy Gym clothes - after every use. two uses if i didn't workout hard t-shirt - after every use suit - clean once it gets a stain, smells, or looks too rumpled and won't come back to life formal dress - same as suit.
- Sheets - Once a week. - Comforter/duvet cover - every other month or so - Bath towel - after 2-3 uses - Kitchen towel - after 1-2 days - A pair of jeans - after 2-3 wearings - Gym clothes - wear once and wash - A cotton t-shirt - wear once - A suit - 2-3 wearings - A formal dress - probably after 1 wearing
This.
I must change my sheets every week. I've even considered changing them more often. I love clean sheets. They feel swampy after a few days, I think.
- Sheets ~2 weeks - Comforter/duvet cover not very often, I would wash them more if we had our own washer/dryer - Bath towel about a week - Kitchen towel usually wash them once a week/when I'm doing a load of that color - A pair of jeans 5-8 wearings unless I feel they are dirty before that - Gym clothes once but sometimes I wear my bottoms more than once - A cotton t-shirt once - A suit I have never worn a suit - A formal dress I don't have any formal clothes
- Sheets: Weekly - Comforter/duvet cover: e/o week - Bath towel: 2-3 uses - Kitchen towel: Usually 2-3 days - A pair of jeans: 2-3 uses - Gym clothes: Definitely just once - A cotton t-shirt: Once - A formal dress: Once
- Sheets - at least 1x/week. - Comforter/duvet cover - we typically wash the duvet cover every week/every other week. - Bath towel - every other day. - Kitchen towel - every day. - A pair of jeans - every 2nd or 3rd wear? - Gym clothes - every time - I'm typically running & get super sweaty. - A cotton t-shirt - every time. - A suit - I don't wear suits. - A formal dress - depends on how long I wore it for, but maybe every 2-3 wears?
- Sheets == change every couple weeks. Better about changing the kids vs. ours - but it's not like we have sex a ton so they aren't that dirty, lol.
- Comforter/duvet cover == same as the sheets - Bath towel == use for a week - change on weekends always - Kitchen towel = until it gets actual dirt/food on it - but if just used to dry hands, stays in the kitchen. - A pair of jeans == could be 1 wear, could be 10. If there is no dirt or stink... all depends. - Gym clothes == ewe, one time use then cleaned. - A cotton t-shirt == wear once then clean - A suit == waer until looks or smells dirty. Fabreeze between wearing. - A formal dress == usually have it cleaned after one wear b/c it's usually a wedding or something that = sweaty dancing, etc
