I went in for a "few" things that I thought would make my stomach feel a little better and left with a hundred-and some odd dollars worth of who knows what.
I've been queezy all day and so whatever I saw on the shelf that made me not sick when I looked at it I grabbed.
I am currently sitting here eating a bowl of oriental-flavored Ramen noodles and they are ORGASMIC. I forgot how good this stuff is. As a pot-head college kid these were great, and now as a hormonal pregnant woman who can't find anything worth eating they are a god send. I'm just worried how much salt I'll be adding to my diet now. I could honestly eat these all the time. They make my belly feel sooooo good.
But I'm putting the groceries away and there is pretty much nothing DH will want to eat - mostly everything is for me and my green stomach. Rice cakes, peanut butter, fruit and hummus, RAMEN and of course, pickles. I read they can cut that nasty flavor from your mouth?
I feel like I'm stocking up for some sort of survival, which I guess I am. Gotta survive until April.
Has your food shopping gone haywire now that you're pregnant?
Ha! 1st tri is SO hard! It's all about survival. I didn't have to deal with m/s but still found grocery shopping to be so challenging due to my smell sensitivity. I remember standing with H in trader joe's on the verge of tears and telling him there was nothing in the whole store I could eat. Lol And I love TJ's.
And don't be surprised if you find those ramen noodles gross tomorrow. For me, there was about 1 food a day that sounded good. :/ But you'll be in 2nd tri before you know and it feeling awesome again.
I had a billion boxes of saltines around for a while. I was also really, really into dipping pretzels in hummus during my first tri. I once went to three different stores to find the exact kind of pretzel sticks that I wanted.

This is pretty likely. I ate ramen straight for a week and made the mistake of stocking up majorly. Then the thought of it started to make me sick. We now have a whole bunch of extra ramen.
The smells of food were not bad but the PEOPLE! Oh. My. God. Does no one shower? I had to pass many old people that almost made me vomit.
Ugh. A very, very smelly man sat down next to me on the subway the other day. The train was so packed that there wasn't room for me to go anywhere else.

Yep, I went a little crazy at Trader Joe's today. Even though I specifically went there instead of the regular grocery store so I wouldn't end up with a cart full of Cocoa Puffs, Skittles, and Pop Tarts.

Lol about the smelly people. For some reason, with me, it's halitosis. I swear I can pinpoint someone in a full room with bad breath, and it makes me gag. Bad breath, like, empty-stomach bad breath, not I-just-ate-onions bad breath.
DH had to take over food shopping in the first trimester because everything smelled off. Now that I am in the second trimester I have to work hard to avoid salt. I seem to want every salty snack in existence. Prior to getting pregnant I was not a salty snack person.
The first trimester I just couldn't worry about eating healthy - I threw up nearly every day and felt queasy the rest of the time, so eating anything was a triumph.

Same here. But since I started eating more carbs my belly got so fat. I'm trying to avoid them now. I'm so bloated it is uncomfortable. Queasy and fat don't mix well. I don't know what is worse.
