I would tell her. It would be very difficult to say and hear, but she deserves to know. If it were me, I would need to know immediately and would be really grateful to the person who told me.
If it was me, I would absolutely want to know. But I would probably be incredibly embarrassed to know that family and friends saw it, so I would appreciate an anonymous heads up. But then I would constantly wonder who gave me the heads up. I'm torn between anonymous and frank disclosure.
I would absolutely tell her. This is something that presumably people will find if they Google her, including potential employers. She also has the right to know that her photos/photos of her are online like this.
I would call or send her a message immediately. I probably wouldn't provide the link until she asked. She may already be aware of it, and I wouldn't want her to be reminded yet again that MORE people have seen it.
I think I would be **slightly** less mortified in her shoes if someone told me that it was on a specific site, but I had to find it myself.
So, a private FB message like, "hey this is awkward, but I would want to know. There is some bad stuff written about you on ****.com." ?
I think something written would be better than a phone call, so this is probably good. No way would I want to have to verbally respond to news like that. So embarrassing!
