Yeah 4H! I did 4H growing up and am still involved in it. I've told H that as soon as our kids are old enough they will be doing rabbit 4H because those kids are super smart! Congrats to your kid!

Awww! Congrats baby girl! I want my son to do 4h when he is old enough. How old do they have to be to do it? What does it entail fr your daughter's chapter?

I don't know what state you're in but I think it's different in different states. Here, they can start at age 5 as "Primary" members, which is more just for experience. They can raise a small animal (guinea pigs, rabbits, poultry, or pygmy goats) and participate in other project areas, like cooking, gardening, etc. but can't go to auction or get awards. When they're 9 they become "Junior" members and can raise a larger animal, go to auction, and receive awards. My girls raise rabbits (Cambria will have a calf next year) and are in the sewing, foods and nutrition, food preservation, arts and crafts, photography, and ornamental horticulture projects.
