I think that your medical spending expenses can only covera those who are insured under the policy, so it would be a no-go for your dad's medical bills.
Anyone need Lasik? That would certainly handle it. You could also look into buying large quantites of first air supplies and then donating them to a women's shelter.

I have no clue regarding the hospital bill. But do you or your kids need any de/humidifiers, nebulizers, ankle/knee braces to play sports, orthotic inserts? All those things *should* be covered, depending on your plan. Just run down the list and see how much you need & can find?
My plan has options based on regular purchases, then you can also get things approved with a prescription and other things approved with a letter from the doctor.
Mine is good for chiropractor, acupuncture, condoms, bandages, pregnancy tests, prescription sunglasses, sunscreen with SPF 15+, sunburn creams and ointments.
Good w/ a prescription: Advil, Tylenol, Dayquil, Antacids, Vitamins and other OTCs. Maybe your doc will help you that way.
Good w/ a letter from the doctor - exercise equipment, humidifier, massage therapy.

Ohhhh, do you think I could get a treadmill qualified?? I already bought two air purifiers and got reimbursed for those. I'd LOVE a treadmill!
Can't hurt to check with your plan to see if that is within your limitations. Mine has a letter required from the doctor to say you "need" it, but when it comes to fitness, who doesn't?
I spent a quick $2500 on eyeglasses for me and DH.
The treadmill may be questionable but it wouldn't hurt to try. If it's denied you'll still have the money in your account and it's use-it-or-lose-it. I had a couple hundred dollar expense denied last year so the damn company got my money. Crap on a stick.
Any moles you want removed? I had a couple on my face removed once, and since they were not dangerous and were considered benign it was cosmetic and I had to pay out of pocket.
