1. I am now 11 weeks. The feeling sick has tapered off. Great! But my stomach has been cramping all day today. It is like mild period pains. Did anyone else have this at around 11 weeks? Could it be stretching? And can you use a hot water bottle?
2. Just found out one of the kids my son goes to school with and does swimming with (I go with to swimming) has slapped cheek syndrome (fifth disease). I am freaking out a bit. Anyone know anything about this? How long before the 'slapped cheek' appearance are they contagious? Swimming is on Tuesday, child symptons appeared on Friday.
I'm on my 7th week and I'm still having period-type cramps that started right away. No bleeding, so I'm assuming it's a good thing. I'm hoping it's normal, too!
hooray for the sickness going away! Mine is increasing and I can't wait until I'm in your shoes.
I had a lot of cramps through my first tri and part of my second. My doc said as long as you are not bleeding as well that it is normal, things are growing and stretching.
Thanks Ladies. I have my 12 week/NT scan next week (11th) so I might become a bit much stressing over every symptom this week. I apologise in advance. The last time I had a 12 week scan they discovered a MMC so the nightmares have already started.

My NT scan is on the 10th. I completely understand & I'm in the same boat as you. This is going to be a long week. In some ways I want it to be busy at work just so it will go by fast.

Same here with the cramping - doc said normal, but call if it's accompanied by bleeding.
No clue on Fifth's, though I was reading a thread on MMM (I think) a couple days ago and the consensus seemed to be no biggie for kiddos, but since you're pregnant you might want to call your doctor to see what to be on the lookout for. I don't know the exact risks, but I know they're there.
ETA I re-read my post and it sounds alarmist - not what I meant. But I think it would be good to keep your doctor in the loop. And good vibes for you this week! I still get nervous when I go in, so I don't know if that ever totally goes away

I am actually hoping that this week goes slow. I am scared its my last week being pregnant. If I find out next week that its another MMC I don't think I am strong enough to handle it. Good luck to you!

I'll be thinking about you this week, I know it's got to be scary after last time!
As far as the cramping/stretching, I was right there with you around that time and it continued for quite a while.
I have everything crossed for you for a good NT scan next week. I had some cramping right around that time, too. I know you will worry until you see that baby moving around on the screen, but maybe try to keep yourself as distracted as possible?
My son got fifths disease when I was in my second tri. My ob did a blood test on me to check and see if I have immunity to it. (I do). Most adults have immunity. It can be harmful to the fetus if a pregnant woman gets fifths but I am not sure if your ob would be concerned from the level of exposure you had. It doesn't hurt to ask though.
