What style earings with this necklace? PIP

I got this necklace in a little shop in Charleston last week. Disregard the AWFUL color in the pictures. It's not nearly that yellow in real life, it's actually a really pretty shade of green. They ended up throwing in the earrings with the necklace for free. So my question is are the earrings the way to go, or are they too matchy matchy. (and if they are what style would you recommed) I have very short hair, so no matter what the choice the earrings will show.

Way too matchy as a set for my taste.

I'd wear the necklace with some simple silver studs or no earrings at all. I have these and I love them:

You could wear the earrings with a simple necklace too. Better yet earrings with a big cuff bracelet. Based on the tones from the pic I'd say silver, but if it's more green like you say gold would work.

I think they are too matchy matchy. With statement necklaces like that, I usually wear no earrings or fairly plain studs.

I agree with a plain stud or hoop or a diamond stud...something classic that will let the necklace pop.
