I've never had acne. Like all through middle school and high school, I had one pimple. It was a doozy, sure, but it was only that one time in seventh grade, so I dealt with it and moved on.
I also don't wear makeup. Nor do I wash my face other than whatever soap-product gets on it in the shower.
I have been getting HORRIFIC cystic, hormonal acne lately (like in the last month). As of yesterday, I had FIVE zits on my jawline area and two that were the remnants of zits.
I consulted my dermatologist (aka MWOS) and she gave me some product recs at Ulta, which I bought today, and I'm going to have to start using them I am so pissed. It's ridiculous that I have gray hair, wrinkles, AND zits. This is not acceptable.

I had cystic jawline acne and my dermatologist said the Mirena is notorious for causing this. I was put on an oral med and two topicals and my skin looks amazing. Finally.
I bought that sulfur stuff. And the guy at Ulta was trying to talk me into some REALLY expensive sulfur stuff and I told him that my dermatologist recommended the other stuff. He backed off.

I've tried that exact more expensive sulfur shit. Guess what? It's 2% sulfur. The stuff I made you buy is 4%. And cheaper.

Not necessarily- I had cysts like you describe that only appeared in my mid-30's. Accutane is really the only thing that rid me of them. I tried every antibiotic and topical around and did one course of Accutane for my cysts (that were isolated, one or a few at a time, but they were huge painful cysts) and I maintain now with a double dose of antibiotic daily and cortisone shots for the occasional cyst that flares up.

Sooo, what is this "sulfur stuff" you speak of? I need to know, please. My skin hates me.
I once took a sulfur based antibiotic that cleared up my skin amazingly. But I would rather avoid going that route at this point.
I had perfect skin through my teen years but I've been paying for it in my early 30s. It is pretty clearly linked to my hormones because the only other time it has been great was when I was pregnant. That's not happening again. I cut out carbs and sugar in Feb and my skin is the best it has been in years. Years.
I used bare minerals sulfur powder and it was awesome. I think it was 3%? Then after I spent 20 bucks on it I saw that ELF has a very similar product for much cheaper. But, the sulfur powder stinks but worked like magic on my cystic acne on my chin. I also use a prescription cream with benzoyl and antibiotics occasionally, but not as much as before I started using sulfur.
My skipped skipped right past grey into white. So I have these random squiggly, wiry, white hairs that literally stand above my head ( ) and will also randomly break out. Its just not right to plucking white hairs, and popping zits all at the same time.
My derm gave me Rx wash with sulfur in it and it's pretty cheap. It's a sulfur solution and comes in a big pump bottle. It's turd brown and has a slight smell, but it worked pretty well.
