This is actually why if/when we get a dog, I want to get a dog that is out of the puppy stage. puppies are adorable, but to HELL with dealing w/ potty training etc.
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
lol. I'm just training maddie to self soothe and self entertain. She is becoming good at it. We even have a schedule now.
Wakeup at 7. go potty. follow us around for breakfast scraps. Go back to nap at 10.30. sleep till 1.30. Potty. Self play till 3.30. Watch traffic till 4.30/5 while also play ball or tag with me. then my H and her will play till they both want to sleep.
It's been medically recommended that I wait a couple years before ttc. My friends (who ALL have kids!) told me to get a pup. Dog has knocked me off the baby train HARD! I'm now so ok with putting family expansion on hold for a bit...

lol wut.
I... did not do this. Or anything close to this. I must have done puppy parenting all wrong.
My dogs are the best sleepers everrrrr. My last dog was not (hey hey! I saw you open your eyes! TAKE ME OUT! FEED ME! LET'S PLAY!), but these guys? I can get up, take a shower, and put on clothes, and homies are still under the covers. They actually make me jealous. lol.
And the little one is sometimes rambunctious and won't settle down when we want to sleep, but I just do the force cuddle and "Shh shhhhh shhhhhh" noise into her ear like she were some overstimulated child, and she actually calms down and goes to sleep with her head on my shoulder. lol.
Now when they are OUT of bed, I frequently want to kill them, and I question my sanity for bringing a little human into this chaos... but sleep is something they do well. lol
I actually consider Luna a pretty easy puppy- she only had a few accidents in the house and is not interested in anything besides food, her toys and my athletic socks. She doesn't eat them, she just carries them around and makes piles throughout the condo.
Having a puppy took away any desire I had to have kids. It's exhausting. He's still a terror, but turns 1 this month. He's slowly starting to mature a little bit, and is wanting to sleep in more and more. Those were some rough, early weekend mornings for a while.
