I took the dog for a walk and I saw them walking around the block. I took my dog for a longer walk because I didnt feel like dealing with them. I know they didn't see me because I can spot them I mile away.
Been there, done that. I have parked in the church parking lot (behind a fence) next to my old house when FIL was visiting to wait for H to get home so I didn't have to spend any time alone entertaining him. My other trick was to hang out in the garage and drink beer while pretending to be on a work call. I am a shitty DIL, but FIL is truly NUTS.

That's great! Mh is working overtime and I know they would of asked a million questions! I dodged a bullet!!
I have pulled onto my street, seen my MIL's car, and turned around and left. Then I call my DH on my cell and tell him to call me when she is gone. Until then i'll be killing time... He gets it, he can't stand her, so he takes one for the team per say since its his mother. He usually tries to schedule her visits for when i'm working.
She is such a rude woman. Among many other things she told me two months after my son was born that I was "ratty looking" and my house was a mess. Mind you, I was on bedrest for two months, in the hospital for three weeks, and my son had surgery at 6 weeks. That was when I started avoiding her....

My mil isn't that bad. Sorry!! They just ask a million questions. Our friend wouldn't go in the house when they were younger because he couldnt take the inquisition.
H and I both did that once. We were at Dillard's and saw MIL and his aunt shopping so we went around and left. They are wonderful people but we just like to be left alone when we're out and not be bombarded with questions and stories about every minute of what we did and what they did for the past few days. We're talking about someone who use to call her son 3-5 times a day every day just to tell him where she's off to next. Glad he finally broke her of that habit.

My FIL came over the other day and knocked on the door. I was in PJs with no bra on and H wasn't home. I turned down the TV and just sat silently until he left. I peeked out the window as he was driving away, so I know it was him. All I can say is thank god I had the door locked!
My ILs came over the other day to drop something off and ended up staying for like 3 hours. I pretended to be cleaning inside so I didn't have to deal with them and didn't even say hello, luckily they mostly just hung out in the yard with H. They're nice people but sometimes I just want to be left alone!
My in-laws come into my place of work and I try to avoid them at all costs. If I see them shopping and they haven't noticed me yet I will get into my office as fast as possible or into our back room so they can't see me. There was one time I went into my office and MIL asked one of the other employees to go in and get me so she could talk to me. ugh!
They also drive by our house. I am not sure why because we don't live on the main road out of the neighborhood. I honestly think they drive by to spy on us.
