For the past 3 years, we've owed about $10k in taxes (not to mention we were getting fucked over by our old CPA firm and paying over $2K for tax prep. they got fired this year.)
So my business partner and I are still in mega start up mode, aka, I haven't had any income coming in since the beginning of this year (if I account for severance, etc from my last job). I budgeted to make sure we could live without my income for a full year, but it's a big change in our old lifestyle.
Part of what I budgeted was having to pay roughly $10K in taxes for 2013. BUT, apparently because both my H and I changed jobs last year we way overpaid into SS (over $8k), which got credited back to us.
WE ARE GETTING A REFUND.
@%#$%#$$@#$!@$#%#$^#$%@$!#$@
So not only can I mentally stash away that $10k I had earmarked, we are getting a nice chunk back to also stash away.
I still feel like it's a joke and our CPA is going to call and tell me that when he recon'd our file, he made a mistake, lol.
I still remember last year when they charged you like, $750 for a 30 minute form.
Yup. I get so angry about that to this day, even though I had a terse conversation with one of the firms partners and he oh reluctantly waived it (grrrrr)
