"You. You and your crazy life. You and your geographic anomaly. You and your drunken lesbianic ways and terrible navigational skills." - ProfArt and her holy baby
The article I read said they were not releasing her name pending notification if her family. Ummmm... They clearly haven't noticed she's been dead 6 years! They can't be that close.
Oh and I love that she had enough money in her account to auto pay all her bills for 6 years! Very MM.
I said it last night and I'll say it again.. I still think it's totally random that the neighbors hadn't seen her for a few weeks so they're all "Oh, she must have moved to another country. That's cool. Hey, what's for dinner?"
It happens?
My great uncle's half sister was last seen in 2010 and her mummified body wasn't found until 2011 in her house. She did not have many friends or family. My uncle was her only living relative and he had only met her a couple of times. Her estate was left to him.

Yeah but.. No moving trucks? No For Sale sign? They didn't wonder why a house didn't just sit empty, but that there were no potential buyers looking? Not even a bank? It seems so weird that no one was like "Hm.. no one has lived in that house for 3 years.. let's go peek in the window." If they had, they would have seen all her stuff still there. It's just odd to me. Then again, I'm kinda nosy.
Apparently, the only reason my uncle's sister was found was because "her uncollected mail gathered cobwebs outside." If she had a mail slot into her home, I doubt she would have been found so soon. Her house was not well cared for. She was a known recluse and again, didn't have much for family and friends.
My BIL prosecuted a case in VA where a man killed his landlord, buried the body under a concrete slab and continued living there for YEARS - and collected the dead guy's social security check.
Then MOVED, left the body behind and forwarded the SS checks to his new address.
Nobody noticed the man was missing and dead. They found the body during a construction renovation.
This is what comes of people just walking away from their homes. Who was it on ML that did that? Yeah. This is how neighbors don't notice each other missing for years.
This happened to my friend. Well sort of, she got a call from her neighbor's daughter asking her to check on her mom. My friend lives out in the country and drove over to the neighor's.
She found the poor lady dead on the floor. In the middle of the summer. Her dog was still alive and had been licking her eyeballs. She had been dead for a week.
The happened to a guy that lived 2 doors down from us as a kid, only it was only 2 weeks.
He was in his 60's and the rumor was that he had a heart attack after one of his regular visits from a hooker, and he had no family or friends in the area. He missed a dr appointment, and the doctor sent an ambulance to check on him.
This could happen with my next door neighbor. She keeps to herself, rarely has visitors, and we don't see her often. She parks inside the garage, and all we occasionally see is the garage door open and close when she's coming or going. She could die and we wouldn't know it.
She's also a raging bitch, so we don't pay much attention to her.
I was thinking the same thing about the woman across the street from us, including the bitch part. We never see her and go the entire winter without even thinking about her. Now the people along side of us? We would notice right away if there was no activity over there.
