I've done so many museum trips/music events/art fairs/cultural events/have made it much more of a point to see friends/HH/restaurants/etc.
Mostly to avoid coming home and feeling satisfied about my life.
I've done a pretty kick ass job at it, as much as I have complained about the snow and cold, I'm wicked happy with all that I've done with DH, by myself and with friends
We took the younger kids on a skiing vacation for the first time. I got to scrapbook the whole 5 days with one of my BFF, the men took the kids to the mountain for ski school and were gone during the day. It was a lot of fun. I don't get a lot of adult interaction so it was nice hanging out with someone and talking, lol.
Because of the 80 tons of snow that fell on my driveway (which were then plowed to the back by the backyard), i now have a killer sledding hill at the top of our backyard hill. so the girls use it as a ramp to give them a super fast, steep, boost to their sled ride.
If I'm continuing to make lemonade with this winter shit? It will probably be there until may.
It makes me irrationally angry that the best part of winter is the holidays and they're over within, like, 3 days of winter starting. Who thought that up? It would be so much better to have the holidays in, say, February when we are all miserable. That way we could have something to look forward to.
It is! My therapist gave me the suggestion in November to plan a major project of some kind. So I planned and executed my booby surgery. Since I don't have any other body parts to reduce, I'll have to think of another project for next year. It really did help.
There's nothing better/cuter in my book than snuggling with a chubby baby in fleece footy PJs.
Also, we took the Down comforter off of my bed and throw it on the floor in the living room, turn on the fireplace, and snuggle together watching a movie.
But I'll trade all of that in a heartbeat for even a hint of green...somewhere. Anywhere!
I was going to say that my kid loves the snow. Like seriously is one with snow. But then I remembered how rarely we got out to play because of the fucking frigid temps. So. No.
I learned how to ice skate.....a little late in the winter, but I'm pretty good! And I watched what I ate and took off 5 lbs, rather than gained it over the winter! Thanks ML.
