Thoughts on building momentum for a movement and not involving Twitter or Facebook? Am I pie-in-the-skying here? I have a friend who is social media-averse, or rather, Facebook-averse, but we're brainstorming some pretty huge ideas/projects the past few weeks that will take buy-in. Do I have to pour into the Facebook machine, do you think, to get the traction I'm looking for?
Any other social media peeps, feel free to chime in!
Yeah... grassroots without social media is like .... flyers for raising awareness??
I wouldn't advise to do it without a suite of WELL CURATED social media outlets. It's just REALLY challenging.
I would like to know what the project is though, because I'm nosy!
NOTE, if you guys have minimal resources for social media curating, dollars to dougnuts there's a ton of students in the city that would love some experience for their portfolio.
And if it's entrepreneurship driven, again, I bet a student at some college that's getting his/her degree would love to have that as a career building exercise.

Oh, we have the social media mavens to curate and curate well, I think. I'm not so rusty myself - it's like riding a bike, right? It's her own personal buy-in that we don't have and without it, would be pretty hollow and contrived. We need her to buy in at the ground level, ya know. I can lure over to Instagram, but her and Zuckerberg must've sparred in a past life.
And I'll definitely e-mail you all about it - I need to pick your brain over the next few weeks.

Oh, and in case it wasn't clear - she's sold on a blogging platform and, yeah, let's just say Instagram, so she does have a presence, but she wants to try to do this without Facebook. Possible? Or no way, given the numbers and traction it continues to have?
