I want to start dressing more professionally at work, to make a better impression- I'm a departmental accountant at a university. Right now, I wear jeans, sneakers, a t-shirt/cami, and cardigan most days, but I'd like to upgrade to business casual. Any suggestions? I'm mostly looking for pants & shoes.
I'm 5'2" & usually a size 8... I have big calves, so skinny jeans are out. I'd prefer heavier material for the pants, in a color that will help hide yellow lab hair. It's pushing it, but pants with a comfy/stretchy waist would be great - I often have stomach issues or bloating so comfort is key.
For shoes, I need something comfortable & supportive. I have bunions & wear orthodics, so heels are out.
And I don't have a lot to spend. I'd like to spend $50 or under per pair of pants, unless they're absolutely amazing. Local stores are Macy's, JC Penney, Vanity, Maurice's. I'm fine with ordering online if returns are free.
