My hair is pretty long- to the middle of my back. But, the ends are gross and I really need a cut to clean it up. DH keeps saying, "But dont cut too much!" My dad always says "Dont chop it all off!" whenever haircuts come up. I was hanging out with my dudeBFF and another (male) friend of ours last week and we were talking about things we need to do before we (DH, DBFF, another friend and I) leave for our trip to Ireland and I mentioned getting my hair cut. It was like a record screech and they both said something to the effect of, "Not all of it, right?!" With genuine concern. (Let me add that my friends are NOT creepy lol)
What is this all about? Would I look truly heinous with short hair? LOL! They all (DH, dad and dude) have a similar resistance to change, so maybe they just dont want me to look different? I'm not truly distressed about this or anything, its just weird that they all say the same thing.
I have to keep an iron grip on my hair when I go into my salon. They all start circling me like sharks with their scissors and straight razors, with a just-smelled-long-hair gleam in their eyes.
I think the stylists fit in either the gay men or feminist category.
My stylist begs me not to cut my hair. When I cut 13 inches off post-wedding, she cringed while doing it.
Men like long hair. When met dh I had a chin length bob and he said he thought it was cool and different (we were in highschool) but once I grew it out he practically begged me not to cut it short again.

The stylist I went to on Tuesday was GIDDY when I told him what I wanted. Lol.
My BIL is the only guy I know who prefers short hair to long.
my husband prefers my hair shorter. I grew it long and it was awesome. He liked it better short. I have chin length now and that is almost too long for him

Jesus. Yes. In fact, for the last 2 years I have only let my former-stylist friend cut my hair because she never pressures me to go shorter than I want and when I say "long layers" she doesn't use that as an opportunity to go shorter. And she comes to my house to do my hair and never lets me pay her. Best.Ever.

Every man I have ever been with has been all "OMG Keep your hair LONGER!" until I cut it all off and then they're all, "Wow, didn't think I'd like that, but I really do! Wow, who knew!" Sigh...

DH likes my hair long or short, but the last time I cut it I took 8 inches off and he really loved it. He told me so several times that day lol. He's one of the few men I know who likes short hair on women.

I wear mine chin length in an a-line bob. It was down to my butt when we got married. Dh doesn't really care about the length as long as its not 'boy' short. I doubt I'll ever be cutting it shorter than it is now because he would hate it.
Whenever I get my hair cut, even just trimmed, H will say, "But I like it this length!" or, "I thought you were growing it out!" Um, yes, but I need a trim. He doesn't get why women's hair needs to be trimmed. To men, any cut = dramatic change. Psh.
Every time I mention getting a trim DH gets a panicked look on his face. He doesn't want me to cut it short ever and he's always scared of the fall out in the event of a bad cut. Shortly before our wedding a stylist went crazy with the layers and I came home distraught.
I think he genuinely doesn't want me to cut it in case I hate it myself.
MH prefers my hair long. I prefer it short, but lazy with maintenance. He knows this and will suggest that I get my hair cut when it starts to get long again.
DH honestly doesn't care what I do with my hair. I know that is unusual. My hair is a little past my shoulders and pretty close to my natural color, so sometimes he even hints around at changing it up. He has even suggested that I get the side shaved once, and when I gave him the wtf face he just shrugged and said he likes edgy hair and thinks it would look good on me. I'm going to test the theory when I get my hair cut into a pixie after my friends wedding in September.
