OMG I am so very sorry! How scary. I am impressed by your ability to keep a cool head in an emergency situation. I wouldn't blame you for walking out of the house after the kids are in bed and heading out to the bar/mall/yoga/whatever until you stop shaking. (I'd be shaking for HOURS I'm sure).
I'm not certain I'd remember what to do in the moment.
DH was just slapping him on the back, because he was panicking. I shoved him out of the way, grabbed the kid and threw him over my knee and have him a few whacks.
Yargh. I hate when they choke. Freddie crammed too much bacon in his mouth a few weekends ago and choked on it and it freaked me out so much.
This was my oldest DD, TWICE!! I no longer serve just barely cooked bacon (and she is 18 now, but hell no!!) like she likes. Only crispy, with no fat.
OP, I am glad you were there and it is scary as crud. I am really good at reacting and doing the right thing in the moment, but once it is over, I get very shaky and teary. Take a bath, have a drink, sit in a dark room, whatever to calm those nerves.
