I can't drive a stick. My dad taught my older sister and younger brother, but i was learning to drive in the middle of their divorce so pretty much nobody taught me to drive at all (I got drivers ed at school and the minimum number of practice hours). Fortunately I was able to pass my test and have killed zero people.
Drive a stick proficiently. I drove my H's car around some parking lots, and drove a drunk friend home, but I think in all cases I never got out of second gear. The likelihood of me stalling the car is very high.
H has kind of taught me to drive a stick, but I can only do it in a parking lot. I am petrified of having to do it on a street with other cars and then stalling in the middle of an intersection or something.
When I owned a car and drove regularly, I was an adequate parallel parker. Haven't owned a car in over a decade and while I'm still a really good driver, I'm scared to try parallel parking. I think I've done it once in 10 years. But maybe I would not completely fail...
I can drive stick, but I agree that I can't think of many situations where you need to. You can find automatic cars to rent in most countries nowadays.
Ah, but you need to redefine valuable life skills. No one needs saran wrap, and if it won't work for you, well, that's a product flaw, nothing more. lol Just get some aluminum foil.
Yeah, Saran wrap/cling wrap is dumb. I use foil for everything. I also call it "tin foil," which is apparently an old person thing according to my mom.
I saw tin foil or aluminum foil. And press and seal is my savior.
