I do, unless they get sticky. The MAC ones tend to get sticky first, and then I have to toss them.

If it smells good and the consistency is usable it's probably fine.

If the smell is off though - ditch it.

I generally ignore best before guidelines for makeup and use my own judgement based on look, smell, consistency, etc.
