our lot is 60x150. I'd say our backyard is about 50' deep. It's actually quite large for our area, but so tiny compared to the half acre we used to have.
I don't think I'd want more ... what we have is enough to maintain. It's nicely landscaped with plenty of mature trees - we have 18 trees on our property which is kind of a lot for the size of the lot. Not tiny little saplings, either. I love our trees, but it makes mowing the lawn go slower, there are lots of obstacles to mow around.
Just under 3 acres. Most of which are our 1 1/2 ponds, island, and wetlands on the ends of the island which separate the ponds. Occasionally when the water levels are high they are one big pond.
We have a small front yard, a moderate sized back yard, a fenced in dog yard in the woods (brush cleared but no grass to mow), and a lower yard/garden farther from the house on the other side of our half circle driveway that is a combination of mowed trails, woods, and raised flowerbeds.
If you rent, only include grass/landscaping that is only for your use, not common areas.
with this criteria - nothing.
we live in a basement suit on a half acre and we have full access to the yard, but so does landlord who lives with/above us. we use the yard more than he does.
3 acres on wide open prairie. So it's all grass and some trees we planted.
Yep. I mow a lot of lawn. I love it though. I never have to worry if the swingset, kiddie pool, random trikes look like hell out there because a) there's enough space to spread it all out b) no one sees it because our 3 acres are surrounded by 160 acres of corn field!
3 acres with a few trees. The rest is all grass. The house sits 75 feet away from the road. DH spends a lot of time mowing particularly in the summer when it needs to get done weekly. We love the space we have, though.
.25 acre, skinny but deep. It's too much for me! We're seriously trying to downsize the yard in our house hunt because my husband is roughly useless with yard work / house maintenance and it's just a little too big for me to comfortably handle on my own- while still having a life.

We have 0.85 acres. I love having the space, but it's waaaaay more work to landscape than I expected! We've been working on it for 2 years now and it still looks like a giant bare patch of land.
