I made a batch of lactation cookies last Friday, figuring that it would be good for me even though I haven't had supply issues, and because COOKIES! However, since I started eating them (~2 a day) it seems as though my supply is dropping, not increasing. I pump once each morning after nursing DD, and where I used to get 5-6 oz. in a session, I'm now lucky to get 1-2 oz.
I haven't been sick and am not taking any medications, DD is still nursing consistently (6-7 times a day), and I'm drinking a ton of water. Diet, exercise, and stress levels are all the same, too. I know that a pump is not the best indicator of how much milk is being produced, but I don't understand why my pump amounts have changed so drastically since starting to eat the cookies. What is going on here?!?
