I was getting so excited to be close to 2nd tri with no morning sickness! Constant, miserable nausea, but I hadn't thrown up.
Until last night. And this morning. I can't keep anything down. I lost my breakfast the minute I finished eating.
This is miserable! I'm scared to eat anything else, but I now haven't eaten in about 20 hours. Any suggestions? When I don't eat, usually, my nausea is worse.
My great empathy to those of you dealing with this for weeks.

Try to eat ANYTHING that appeals to you and try for every 2 hours. Not much food wise has worked for me. Honestly I went pretty quickly to meds after I started throwing up. Even those only tak the edge off but it makes it so that I can eat.

Thanks, Sharky. I have actually mostly gotten past food aversions, and I'm happy to eat. Last night my stomach hurt so much, I couldn't eat more than applesauce. This morning I was starving and had some oatmeal, but that didn't end well. I guess I will try some saltines later and see how that goes.

Oh oatemal is THE WORST thing to throw up. I had to stop eating it. And definitelty don't be afraid to ask your doctor for meds. My quality of life has been sh*t because of being sick so if you can avoid it, I would.
I have the nausea thing. Doctor has me eating small amounts of simple carbs and proteins every couple of hours to combat it: orange and string cheese or hummus and cucumber, trail mix, or small apple with peanut butter. Vomiting is just another part of the hormonal changes in pregnancy. Don't let it freak you out. It got better at 14 weeks for me but still rears its ugly head every now and again.

First, you need to make sure you're not dehydrated - get some Gatorade to get your electrolytes back up. Sip it and make sure it's ice cold - that will help. Get some simple carbs - think a BRAT diet - bananas/bread/rice/apples/toast. Small bites, nibbles.
Second, if it continues for another day or so, get thee to the doc or call them for a Zofran prescription so you can get some food in you.
I'm so sorry you're suffering! Hope it doesn't last.

Thanks everyone. I managed to get down about 8 saltine crackers, a few ounces of ginger ale, and maybe 4 oz of water. So far, so good.
What's really odd is how violent it is. I can barely breathe in between retching, so then I start coughing and throwing up. It's terrible.
These are great tips. I see my midwife next Wednesday, so if it's not better by then, I'll definitely ask for some help. In the meantime, sending H to the store for popsicles and gatorade.
Alwaysabridesmaidf, that's funny. I actually remarked to my husband that there have been much worse things to throw up...

Thanks, magdala. I read that on here a couple weeks ago, maybe from you? That has definitely been helping combat the nausea. I have been feeling SO much better overall in the last two weeks, I think I thought I was in the clear. Apparently not!
The same thing happened to me- no throwing up until about 11 weeks. I'd try to eat small things, esp. carbs, but if you don't get relief please do ask for some medication.
Ugh, I'm so sorry you're going through this. It is pretty violent, isn't it? I was throwing up so consistently the acid made my esophagus bleed. Definitely ask for meds if you think you need them.
Sorry! . Talk to your doc about hydration but not eating for 20 hours is ok for tummy issues. Glad you are keeping stuff down, but just eat when you are hungry and only things your body says it wants- it's ok if it's funny things like crackers or snack foods. Don't try to eat a certain amount. GL!
that's about when my puking started too. i thought i was in the clear then threw up for about two weeks. hope that yours is more short lived than that. i drank a ton of gatorade and ate anything that sounded good at the time -- ramen, chicken noodle soup, mac and cheese, mostly noodles, ha. also rice krispie treats were like magic for me too. one thing that i never threw up after. i also made DH run out on several mcdonald's trips because their cheeseburger was also a magic food.
