I'm sorry, and I hope you get answers soon. I've also heard that "false negatives" are pretty high, so hopefully the CVS test will give you peace of mind.
So sorry you're going through this. I had a friend that had alarming measurements with NT, and at her next test (not sure what she elected to do), everything was just fine. Hoping for a similar result for you.
I'm so sorry your appt didn't go well. The nt scan is one of many tests available and isn't perfect. I hope that you, your H, and your doctors are able to find more definitive answers with whatever next steps you decide to take.
Big hugs, centralsquare. Is taking a materniti21/verify/harmony (or whatever other brand name it comes under) an option before proceeding to a CVS/amnio or did you already have one of these?

Thinking of you.
I can take Verifi, but the results will come back outside of the cvs window. That means I'd have to wait another 3 weeks for an amnio. At this point, I think I just need to move forward to find peace of mind. I am thankful to find a lot of anecdotes about things turning out just fine, but in the meanwhile, I'm certainly concerned and fearing for the worst until I know more.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with this added stress. Definitely know that you are not alone. Almost every woman in my family has had elevated risk assesments following their NT scans and has gone on to have a perfectly healthy child. It is beyond maddening in the time between the first scary news and when you can learn more, but I hope it goes quickly for you and that all is well in the end.
Ugh. I'm so sorry that today didn't go well. I can only imagine how stressed out that must have made you. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet - you need more thorough and complete information. Ask all your questions and demand answers. Sending you lots of good vibes that everything is ok and that you get some peace of mind.
Was baby's CRL measurement on track with your dates?
Honestly, I don't know. She finished the ultrasound and didn't tell me any specifics. I saw as she was doing it at the measurement was over three, and she didn't offer anything else. She immediately got on the phone to the genetic counselor, and we went to talk to her.

My situation was/is very grave, and hopefully yours is not, but my MFM did not recommend the bloodwork due to timing as well as the risk of false negatives or inconclusive results due to our issues. Fwiw I did the CVS vagianlly and it wasn't painful.

Thanks. Re: cvs, that is good to hear. I don't think I've seen anything about your situation. Sending you the best, and I'm sorry you are dealing with something so difficult.

I'm sorry your appointment did not go well. I understand your fear and panic. I ended up doing an amnio with each of my pregnancies. GL with your appointment tomorrow. I hope your results come back swiftly and in the clear.

Ok, it seems FISH is a type of rapid test for 13, 18, 21 and is back in 48 hours. I presume that is being done, bc they said I'd have initial results (not 100% conclusive) within 48 hours.

Huge hugs to you. My story is different in that I had bad M21 results and had a CVS to confirm. The actual CVS procedure wasn't bad at all - I had a bit of spotting and the one clot (that the doc had warned me about, thankfully!) and took it easy for a few days. The FISH should come back in 2-3 days, which is a preliminary report (but not infallible).
Absolutely feel free to pm me if you want any more details on my experience, or the CVS in general.
The odds are still in your favor. I'm so sorry you're going through this, and I hope you get good news quickly! More (((hugs))) to you, centralsquare.
centralsquare ((HUGS)) I really hope things turn out ok. I had a friend who had this same thing happen to them and they are holding their healthy baby girl right now as we speak.
