irish - Did you grow up in the US? Were you vaccinated?
No and Yes.
Grew up in Ireland (where we don't vax for CP) but the MMR wasn't around back when I was a kid. I was vaccinated for Rubella at 13, which was standard back then but I'd already had it years before.
My sister is 7yrs younger than me (a brother in between) and I'm pretty sure she got MMR. That brother (I've 2 more younger again) also got what I had. And he has 4 kids ;-)

Chicken Pox
They thought I had mumps but it was just one lump. I was possibly going to have surgery on it, but it ended up being ok. I just remember not being able to move my head to watch tv. Lol!
I remember lots and lots of kids getting chicken pox in the late 80s and early 90s. Like classrooms would be half empty. But my mom can't remember if I had it in the early 80s. I was surprised to learn as an adult that it is a standard vaccine now.

I had chicken pox. It was right after 2nd grade got out for the summer - I was so pissed that all my friends missed school for it just weeks earlier, and I just missed out on summer vacation.
Before I was born, all 4 of my siblings got CP at the same time, while they were living in a hotel during home renovations. My poor, poor mother.

Chicken pox, and one of the pox became infected and I got impetigo (DON'T GOOGLE if you don't know what it is. It's gross) and then I got pneumonia when I was 15.
Chicken pox effing sucked and I don't wish that on my kiddo. Pneumonia just kicked me on my ass and I was SO tired and lost a shitton of weight that I didn't need to lose. I looked gross when it was over.
I had the chx pox when I was 4. It sucked, but the worst part was cinnamon flavored liquid Benadryl because I had sores in my mouth and throat. That shit BURNED. I learned how to swallow pills that week.
I don't even know where to post an intro here! I was on TK/TN/TB since 2003, mostly local boards. I was m_and_m.

Nothing. I actually got the chicken pox vaccine when I was 12, but didn't have any immunity when tested in pregnancy, so I got it again a few months ago and will get a booster in another few months.

Chicken pox in 4th grade after a relative brought her daughter to Thanksgiving fully knowing that daughter had chicken pox and dost tell anyone until weeks later. My mom is still salty about that one.
Between my parents they had measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox and tell me about being terrified of contracting polio and being SO excited to get the Salk vaccine ASAP. They both had kids from school die from polio.

My mom got the whooping cough, but wanted to be in the Christmas play at school SO bad. She gave it to some of her classmates, and apparently at least one of them died. My great aunt had polio, and a friend of my dad's has post-polio syndrome (went from being a HS athlete to having to wear braces to walk). That shit is scary.

Chicken pox, German measles, mumps, whooping cough. I got measles when I was 18 years old - it SUCKED.
And yes, I was fully vaccinated (well, not for chicken pox - I don't think that vaccination existed yet back then). Not sure how I got everything anyway, but oh well, lol.
