I'm 26, in Engineering and btwn internships, Co-ops and fulltime after grad. I have over 5.25yrs of engineering experience; yet I have no resume, at least that I can find.
Can I ask HR in my current job for the resume they have on file? Is there some way to do that/excuse so that it doesn't look like I'm looking for another job? Can I say I want to update my Linked-In, etc?
Or does anyone have a good template of an engineering resume I could use to create a new one?

You can't find any versions of your resume? I wouldn't ask for it from HR if I were you.... I'm not an engineer so I don't have a template you can use, sorry!

Does your job have an accrediting body or auditor that comes to visit? We always need our resumes for those types of visits- and I have to contact HR for my resume and job description for the portfolio.
Could you use that?
We also have to do annual reports and we need resumes for that too.

I wouldn't ask HR - they will know exactly what you're doing.
Can you search your email by "resume" to see if you sent it out and somehow it saved in there or can you go online to Monster or anything that you may have applied through to try to pull the content at least?
I've searched my college laptop, current home and work computer with no luck. I don't have one on linkedin; but I'll try to search Monster and Career Builder.
I've searched my emails and even had my engineering college friends search theirs with no luck. I wish I still had access to my college university email, but that expired. Maybe I should try the Co-op center at my university. I'm not sure they hold on to records like that, but it could be useful.
Otherwise, I'll rewrite; but my work experience goes back 8 years and I'm nervous i won't remember important points.
