The Pre School board used to do a weekly *cute lunch* check in and I have just started making them. I am practicing for when she starts school in the fall. This one is from today
Very cute! How long does it take for you to do something like that? I'll have to pack DS's lunches in the fall, and I'd love to be able to do something like that, but I know myself and know I wouldn't want to spend too much time on it (is it sad that one of my considerations when looking for daycare was whether or not they provided lunch?) I never pack lunch for DH and I know because I can't get it together in the morning (MM Shame) so I really fear having to pack for DS next year.
It takes me about 10 minutes, but I think it will go faster once I have tried out all my various new cutters and picks and seeing what fits where. This is my first time packing her lunch too. Her daycare provided it, and the other days she is with my MIL. But now that we have a nanny for the baby, she is staying home until preschool in the fall. I make it the night before after she goes to bed.
Adorable! I tried doing cute lunches when she started preschool in August, but her teacher asked me to stop. She was playing with her food and not eating it
Here is a link. They are my favorite! I also like the ones in this pack that look like bones. If you put one on each end of a chicken nugget or meatball it would look really cute!
that is really cute! but when you put the lid on and DD carries it around and swings the lunch bag, etc... doesn't it get all messed up??
Currently she just eats them at home since she is with a nanny. The blogs I look at have tips to keep the food from getting all smooshed. Basically packing the food in really tight does the trick. The little thing of applesauce has a lid, and a few more strawberries would prevent it from moving around. On the bottom, I could put the turkey "standing up" and that would hold it in place too. The Bento box itself is really small, so it is made to fit into a lunch box with a drink. I need to play around with it more.
If you all don't mind, I would love to do a weekly check in and let you know how it goes as I learn. And I would love to see what you guys comes up with as well!

those are cute! DS has been eating ham and cheese roll ups lately and I use a toothpick - he's probably love something like this.
