I live 1 hour from San Francisco, 2.5 hours from Tahoe, 35 minutes from Sacramento. I'm pretty lucky and can't really ever be bored since I'm so close to lots and lots of Northern California gems. But there are still a lot of places I haven't been that I'd love to take more day trips to go see.
I live in Portland or as I call it "Day Trip Capital of the World" Within 3 hours of me: Seattle, Olympic National Park, the Oregon Coast (an hour away) and Washington Coast, Mt. Rainier National Park, Mt. St Helens, abundant hiking in the Mt. Hood National Forest and the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge, the Willamette Valley Wine Country....just to name a few.
Easy day trips are Virginia wine country and Blue Ridge Mountains. We technically could do a day trip to DC, but we usually make a weekend out of it, and Baltimore is doable too.
I grew up in suburb of NJ, so when we visit them we can do a very easy day trip to NYC.
I live about 1.5 hours north of Miami, 3 hours north of Key Largo, 5 hours from Key West, 2 hours east of Tampa, 2 hours south of Orlando, and the Bahamas is a boat ride to the east. I love it here.

I live in Santiago now, and day trips include the Andes (hiking in summer, skiing in winter), the beach, quiet countryside and several different wine valleys (my personal favorite).
I previously lived in the SF Bay Area and LA, so I've always been close to lots of fun stuff.
I live in Chicago so there's tons of tourist stuff to do within walking distance or via public transportation. I know Milwaukee, Notre Dame, the Dells, and more can be a day trip but after nearly 4 years, I have yet to venture to any of those places. I'd like to do Milwaukee sometime soon though.

I live in a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Lots of hiking, biking, and paddling destinations. Mall of America, Minnesota Zoo, Wisconsin Dells, Duluth, Minnesota North Shore, Chicago (makes a good short weekend trip), Black Hills, SD (makes a good long weekend trip), Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA). Lots and lots of lakes. Love Minnesota and all there is to do, especially the outdoors aspects.

I live in the Seattle area so I am close to three National Parks (Olympic, Mount Rainier, & North Cascades). There are also the San Juan Islands, Whidbey Island, Vashon Island, Portland, Vancouver BC, Victoria BC, and then of course a ton of things to do in the greater Seattle area.
