We are selling our house and buying a new one. We are going to put ours on the market maybe next week, and have a few different towns we are looking for houses. Not too much is on the market yet cuz its cold and snow is on the ground still.
I'm 16 weeks pg and DD is going into Kindergarten this fall. She does FT daycare now. I'm due early Sept. and hoping I don't have this kid on the first day of school . So I gotta find daycare for the baby and before/after school care for DD. Baby wouldn't need it til mid-Novemberish but DD will need to switch in Sept or maybe a bit before if possible.
Normally I would have my name on the waitlist at a few places by now, but since we don't even know what town we are moving to yet, let alone district or neighborhood, I can't really narrow down an area to sign up in.
What should I do? if I wait til we find a house it could be June or July - that's gotta be too late for newborn daycare signups.

While it might not be the most cost effective method, I would consider getting on wait lists in multiple towns just to cover the areas you are most likely to end up in.
We work in separate towns on opposite sides of the area . We are actually hoping to live right inbetween them - just a matter of which side of the river.
But I'm definitely getting on the daycare waitlist at DD's current daycare as a backup. It's way too expensive for newborns now but its better than nothing.
I think I might get on like 3 or 4 in each town and then revisit it later. I ended up creating a big ole map on google with all the elementary schools and daycares plotted . I think I wanna try to live near an elementary school anyway since I'll have a kid going to it for 10 years straight!
