My level was 146, apparently normal is up to 140. I'm wondering if I did anything wrong...I unintentionally fasted from about 8 last night, and the test was at 8:30 this morning...I also basically chugged the drink in like a minute and wonder if that affected anything. Idk, I'm just pretty bummed about it. Everything else at my appointment was so great, and I was all happy. And now I'm not (wilted)
I know this has been discussed before, but if you failed your one hour did you pass your 3 hour? And if so, what was your level for the 1 hour? I just don't know if my level is considered pretty high over normal of if I might have hope of passing the 3.
There have been many women in my prenatal yoga class that were really close to passing and far off that failed their 1 hour. They then turned around and passed their 3 hour test.
So I would try not to worry too much or be down on yourself.
I'm sending you positive vibes for your next test.
First time I failed the one hour with a 238. Skipped straight to GD treatment without doing the three hour.
This time I had to do the one hour during first tri because of my history. Failed the one hour with a 156 (OB wanted under 130). Took the three hour and passed all draws with room to spare. I'll have to repeat it at 26 weeks.
Good luck! The thing about GD it's that it's really not related to anything you did or didn't do. It's mostly hormone driven by your placenta, and some people just have a higher propensity for developing it based on things like age, ethnicity, pre-preg BMI, and family history.

With my first pregnancy I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour. I don't remember what my numbers were. However if your one hour number was 146 I think you have a good chance of passing the three hour.
For this pregnancy I just took my 1 hour test today and the results are not back yet.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! Your responses and reading stuff online have me hopeful, and even if I have it, it sounds like it's not the end of the world to manage. Trying too keep positive over here
I failed my one hour with a 147. I was upset to find this out - particularly since my OB said they'd call on Monday if I failed and they ended up calling on Thursday. I went a few days thinking I was in the clear only to find out that I had to do the 3 hour.
I passed the 3 hour with flying colors. The test itself just sucked.
I found a chart online (don't have the link) where it had percentage likelihood of failing 3 hr given 1 hr results. For those in our range, it was like a 20% chance of failing. That means 4/5 people who fail 1 hr at 146/147 have no problem. That made me feel better!
I can't remember the exact statistics, but something like 20-25% of pregnant women fail the one hour, but only around 4% of pregnant women have gestational diabetes. That means lots of people fail the one hour and pass the three hour! So there's a really good chance you don't have gestational diabetes.
My test is today and I'm already anticipating that I'll fail it (due to the fact that it's at 3:30 today instead of in the morning like they wanted). The only way my client will "let" me attend doctor appointments in the morning is if I take the whole day off.
If you were close to passing the 1-hour then you'll be fine at the 3-hour.
