A friend of mine who is a general manager of an electric utility flipped his small plane while on landing last night. On board were several staff members of the utility. One of them was killed who happens to be their HR Director.
I'm distraught about my friend even though he's going to be okay. I know he feels horrific because the plane and the passengers were his responsibility. I really feel bad, though, about the HR Director. She and I have had disagreements over the labor contract, but I thought she was a very nice person. I was going to meet with her tomorrow over an issue, but clearly that's not going to happen now. Business is business but I feel bad that she had irritated me last week and now she's gone.
