The prenatal vitamins I've been taking are 3x/day...Well yesterday, I forgot to take two of the vitamins and only took one. I am feeling tons better today (not as nauseated, and my stomach is not as rumbly), could it be because I didn't take all of my vitamins? (I honestly have no clue if I would react that fast to skipping a dose or two?)
They do contain Iron (20mg in 3 Tablets), and I was reading that Iron can cause some digestion issues.
I'm just wondering if I'm randomly feeling better, or if my prenatal vitamins are the reason I've not been feeling so hot this last week (I didn't start taking them until the 19th of this Month, prior to that I was taking a regular multivitamin with extra folic acid).
A lot of people do have trouble with prenatals causing nausea. My doctor recommended taking any brand that was only 1x/day. I take Rainbow Light Once Daily Prenatals, and take them right before bed so I don't have any issues.
For the weeks I was feeling really shitty I switched to the gummy ones. I'm back to my regular pills now though but if I have a bad day I'll take the gummies.
I take one designed for just a once a day. When I was taking it while TTC, I could take it in the morning and feel fine. But once I got pregnant I had to switch to just before bedtime to alleviate the nausea. I've thought about alternating in gummy vitamins (typically they don't seem to have as many nutrients) a few days a week just to give myself a break from the big giant ones I currently take.
All of that to say that I would bet at least some of the nausea you are experiencing is caused by the vitamins. If you can, maybe try switching to a once daily pill.

3 times a day?! I can barely remember to take mine once. Last time I, when I was working, I packed it in my lunch bag and took it then. I found that taking it with food helped with nausea and drinking quite a bit helped with fishy tasting burps.

I take a once a day and switched to taking it just before bed (usually after eating a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast) and that helped with the nausea.
Yes, they make me horribly sick. I don't take them. I take a folic acid and eat a balanced diet. I have for all 4 pregnancies. I can't take the iron either.
My doctor told me I didn't need them if i had a well balanced diet. I tried to take some anyway and just ended up vomiting. For the last trimester, they have me on iron pills though without any adverse reactions
