I just registered for an express childbirth class offered by the hospital (6 hours as opposed to the regular 12 hours) for wk 30, and a free hospital tour one month before my due date. I'm still on the fence about the breastfeeding class. What are your plans?

We took a newborn care class, a breastfeeding class and a late pregnancy/hospital tour class. Each one came with an awesome booklet so even though I was overwhelmed with information, I have a resource to look back at. I'm glad I did all of them and if time allowed, I would have taken the childbirth class but none of the dates matched up!
We've just registered for the regular NHS antenatal class. I don't think there is a breastfeeding class per se, but I know the NHS has lactation consultants. I have no desire to take the longer, NCT classes because I get the impression from a friend who did them that they really harp on about med-free birth and I want ALL the drugs.
We took a childbirth class held at the home of a local homebirth midwife. It included a 2 hour class on what to expect for the post-partum period in the hours as well as weeks after birth. I found it very interesting and it provided for a lot of discussion between DH and I. My birth center encourages us to participate in one 2-hour breastfeeding class, so we'll be going to that this week.
We did a class for new parents which was awesome (www.newchildproject.org) and we are starting our childbirth classes which includes newborn care and some breastfeeding and other stuff. It's a 6 week course so it covers a lot. My birth center offers a free breastfeeding class too which were doing and then today I just signed us up for an infant CPR course. I like classes apparently
We are doing a childbirth class around week 28 (the following month didn't work with our schedule). I'm on the fence about an infant CPR class and a hospital tour.

We're doing an expectant parent class (includes hospital tour and birthing info), an infant CPR class, a breastfeeding class, and a HBOTB and Infant Care class. I'll probably laugh at myself later, but knowledge is power, right? Lol.
We have almost zero experience with newborns, though, so I'm okay with going a little overboard.

We're signed up for a hospital tour, childbirth class, and a breastfeeding class. They are all just a few hours on one day, except for the childbirth one which is a Friday evening and then all day Saturday class.
We just do a hospital tour. Some things like breastfeeding really can't be taught ahead of time. I had a lot of experience with babies so I really didn't need those types of classes. We did a little research on the Bradley method before the first and followed those principles during labor.
We are planning to do a childbirth class. I think I may skip the breastfeeding class and just read up on it. I hadn't looked into infant CPR classes yet, but we may consider one.
I'm planning on just the tour of the maternity ward, as the hospital underwent a huge renovation since my last child was born. We're also looking to do a infant/child CPR class through our local parks & rec dept.
The first time we did a three hour overview of childbirth class. It was okay. The instructor portion was pretty informative, but the Q&A portion was filled with the most ridiculous people piping up nonstop. We had also signed up for a newborn basic care class, but DD1 arrived three weeks before the class date. In hindsight we would have been fine without the newborn care class because the nurses really do teach you everything.
I am having an RCS. If I go into labor, there is no need for me to understand the stages or pain management techniques or what have you. I will only need to know the fastest route to the hospital so I can have an emergency cs ASAP.
We signed up for a 6 week childbirth class that also touches on breastfeeding and CPR. We have a pediatrician tour next week and I found out they offer free breastfeeding, HBOTB, and parenting classes. Score!
Our hospital tour is this Saturday even though I inadvertently got a mini one back in February. I'll probably go ahead and fill out the registration stuff while we're there.
Oh, and we'll be scheduling a Baptism by Fire sometime in the next few weeks, aka babysitting friends' almost 2 year old and 4 month old. Hold me.
I'm planning to take pretty much all of them - childbirth, breastfeeding, infant care, infant CPR, and the hospital tour. Its probably overkill, but the whole idea of keeping a tiny human feels daunting to me right now.

Ditto! I'm doing a lot of reading, but my DH is not so I think it will be good for both of us to hear everything.
I'm doing a 2 hour breastfeeding class ( for women only). I am on the fence about the childbirth class/ maternity tour offered through my OB. I tried to sign up last month but never recivied a reply. The April class is gonna be hard to go fit in and I think May is too late. At this point, I really just want a tour of the hospital, but they are only offered through the OB's. I'm pretty frustrated with my OB and the hospital and wish I had chosen another one.

With my first pregnancy, I took childbirth education, infant CPR, and breastfeeding. DD was born a little before my baby care basics class, but I don't think that one was necessary. We figured it out. I didn't get much out of the childbirth class since I read a lot of books, but DH got a lot out of it. The breastfeeding class was mostly a waste of time. Most of the class was spent on the benefits of breastfeeding. I liked a video they showed with different breastfeeding positions, but I'm sure you could easily google that info.
I am taking infant CPR again and DD is taking a sibling class. I did the hospital tour with both since I am delivering at a different hospital.
I am requesting just a hospital tour this time because it has been 6 years since I have been in the maternity hospital. I am sure things might have changed a bit.
Although loira the NHS do offer a relaxation class as well. It is a series of 2-3 classes run by the physio's. I am thinking of doing that one again. It was really good last time.

Ooh, that does sound good. I will be sure to ask our midwife about it at our next appointment.
