Based on my first dating ultrasound I should be 11w3days today. But, I had my N/T scan today and measured at 12w1day.... So, what am I?? The tech said the doctor may or may not adjust my due date. But now I don't know whether I'm over the 12 week milestone or not...?!
Agree with bricco - I think I was measuring a few days ahead as well, but at my ob's office they generally won't change your due date after it's set at the 7w confirmation appt via u/s. At my 20 week a/s I was back on track growth-wise. Sometimes baby will have a growth spurt a little early that evens out as time goes on.
I would just use your LMP as your date. Sometimes they will readjust if if they need to. I was measuring ahead last week and she told me it's normal. It's all about the tools they use to measure and who is measuring.
I was measuring 2 days ahead at my first u/s (7.5 weeks) and 3-4 days ahead at the NT scan, and my EDD was never changed. I was charting so I know when I ovulated.
It's not uncommon to measure a few days off--and I do wonder at the very early stage if even a millimeter difference in where the u/s tech plops those little markers could account for a few days' difference.
OrangeTree like everyone else has said I have measured ahead on various different scans but have not had my due date changed. According to my chart my due date is actually 2 days later than what it is currently estimated at BUT I go with what my OB says.
I measured a day ahead at my NT scan, and my due date is now the official one the ultrasound tech gave me. They did make a point of saying that henceforth my due date won't change.
by the time of the NT scan its already late enough for dating to be quite a bit off I think. My place doesn't really change dates. I mean, if it were DRASTICALLY different maybe.
For my first pregnancy at my 12 week scan I was measuring 5 days ahead. At my 18 week scan I was measuring a week ahead. My date was never changed. I was induced at 42 weeks pregnant.
I'd say keep the original date just because you are better off at the end not thinking you are 40 weeks when you may not be ... end of pregnancy is soooo long. I'd rather go at 39 weeks and surprise! Than expect to go on x date and then go miserably overdue.
this time I had a scan at 8 weeks for dating and it was extremely accurate! I'd been taking ovulation tests and knew I ovulated late and the scan gave the exact due date I had calculated myself. I insisted they change it to this new later date so as to avoid going to 42 weeks again and having another induction.
(by the NT Scan a month later I was measuring a full week ahead again)

I'm measuring ahead of my supposed O date per FF. I wasn't able to catch my surge with OPKs, but per temps I Oed on CD20, and when I had my NT scan, they measured me a week ahead, which matched up with my LMP, not O date. So color me confused. But baby is healthy so that's all we really care about in the end.
I completely agree with everyone else's advice. Also, realize there is nothing magic about the 12-week mark that puts you in the clear or really any less at risk that you are before that point.
