We have the City Mini Elite GT, but it's really not meant for real running. My H wants to get a running stroller and has convinced himself he needs the Mountain Buggy Terrain, which I hadn't heard of. I know the BOB a Revolution is a popular one for running.
We have a double Chariot which is nice because it also doubles as a Bike trailer but it is a bit bulky for running, being a double stroller. SIL has a single and loves it though. I have no experience with other brands.
I have a BOB SE that I have run with and I like it a lot. It's heavy, but it's smooth to push. H has started running with it recently and likes it, too.
FWIW, I didn't try any others first, just went with the one that seemed to be the most talked about/liked.

We have a Mountain Buggy double jogger. We love it. Our only complaint, which they might have fixed since ours is several years old, is that the sunshade isn't good at all on it. Especially going from our City Mini's amazing sun shade. That is our only complaint though, other than that we are very happy with it.
That being said, everybody else that I know has a BOB and loves it, so it sounds like you really can't go wrong either way.

We have both the single and double BOB. They are the best thing we've spent money on. My husband runs, and I do a lot of walking. They have gotten a lot of use and are just fantastic.
BOB Revolution. I think ours is 6 years old now, still going strong. Have had to replace a tire here and there but overall it's a fantastic stroller. We use it as our "only" stroller.
We have the Chariot Cheetah 2. We went with the two kid stroller because we thought we'd use it with friends and if we had a second, we wouldn't have to get another stroller. It's been rebranded as Thule. We really like it.
I like that it's relatively low to the ground and is enclosed. I feel like he's well enough protected, and the stroller is very stable. The thing is like a freaking tank too, but in the best way possible.
I have the baby trend expedition jogging stroller. The front wheel can swivel or lock. I haven't been running much lately since I've hit my 3rd trimester. The thing is 4 years old and has held up great.
Everyone in my running club with kids used the BOB Revolution and had nothing but good things to say about it. So that's what I bought. Haven't used it yet, obviously.

Mostly a lurker - we just bought a Baby Jogger Summit X3 and I absolutely love it. Its a bit more compact than the BOB and it has the quick fold like your CM does. I liked the features of it better than the BOB and I would recommend looking at it before just going with the BOB (thats what I was going to do since everything recommends it- but I am SO glad I didn't
I got the graco jogging stroller. I didn't want to spend the money to get the BOB. I love the fact that if/when I have a second kid, the infant carrier will click right into it.

This is our only stroller, and while I'm not a stroller person at all, I do really like it. Its good for jogging and maneuverable for other use. Also, inexpensive.
We have the instep safari double. I'm not a runner, but I pretend to be. I didn't want to spend a ton on something and then feel guilty for not using it.
Pro's - the wheel can be fixed or swivel, not expensive and fits thru doorways
fryjack2 I have been looking at the bumbleride indie. Do you use it as a regular stroller or just for running? We have a lot of rough walk ways, and DH runs a bit. But I was wondering if I would find it too bulky when folded up or inconvenient for any indoor use.
We have a BOB revolution and a Chariot (don't ask)
Love the bob for strictly running.
Adore the bike and xcountry ski attachment for the chariot -- and like it as a running stroller. But I don't know if you have this brand in the us?
They definitely have knock offs. (Burley? That might also be Canadian). You are a badass if you actually Xcountry ski with the chariot. That shit is hard. I do love that stroller, though. It's amazing how lightweight it is, and so easy to manoeuvre. The new one has everything I wish mine had.
Rei has it, a few bike shops have it, or online. We got ours from rei.

I have 3 strollers . An Orbit, a Bugaboo Donkey, and the BR Indie Twin. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bumbleride. I use it every single day. Inside, outside, on the sand, in the grass, on cobblestones, on uneven terrain, on paved roads, anywhere. Its seriously awesome and can navigate anything easily. I run with it as well.
I wish I had never bought the Bugaboo. That thing sucks. The first time I used it, I almost tipped the boys over because I was so used to the Bumbleride just going down a curb. You have to slow down and maneuver the Bugaboo, while you can just walk with the Bumbleride.
I don't understand bulky. I have twins, every stroller is double the size of everyone elses Really, though I don't find it that crazy bulky.
Another vote for the BOB Revolution. I got mine off Amazon during a flash sale. Worth every penny. Not only is it great for running but it also works well on the beach in the sand.

Go test drive one
Thanks! It sounds great. I will try it out this weekend.
