that they will be able to determine the sex at 14 weeks?
That's my next appointment. I was just reading on my pregnancy app that gives a week-by-week synopsis of where the baby is developmentally and skipped ahead a few weeks. Week 14 it says "the sex of the baby can now be determined with an ultrasound".
I always thought it was closer to 18-20 weeks. Now I've got my hopes up (but not too much). Did anyone find out this early? When I go in should I ask if they can try and see?
I didn't find out til 20weeks and I wouldn't have wanted to because I would have been worried it might have been wrong. I found out girl at 20weeks and still wanted it confirmed at 28, 34 and 37weeks (I had lots of ultrasounds, lol).
Yeah, it's just a check up so I guess if heshe is not in the right direction or position it may not be possible to tell.
Well, at least I know there is a slim chance but won't get my hopes up.
We are SO IMPATIENT with the sex! When I told H I was pregnant he said "When can we know the sex?"
Also, I know the harmony test can also provide the sex this early. Unfortunately, I'm not 35 yet so insurance won't cover it. Instead I'm doing a sequential screen which won't give the sex. H said "well, how much will it be OOP?" ($1000 +, btw) lol. We really can't wait to know!
I found out with G at 14 weeks! They aren't certain, but you might get a guess. fingers crossed!
I'm OK with an educated guess I mean, the odds are 50/50 with just a straight out guess right now - so backed up with a view? could be more than 50%. Or is my math wrong?
My SIL was given an educated guess at 14 weeks that she was having a girl. By her 20 week scan it was definitely a boy. They might give you an opinion at 14 weeks, but I wouldn't count on it being right.
Really, even if the guess isn't educated, there's still a 50% chance it's correct.

I would not expect an u/s at 14 weeks. I also would not feel confident in believing whatever the guess was at that point. So I don't really see the point if even asking for a guess.
A blood test is more accurate than an u/s and can tell pretty early on. Does your insurance cover the materniti21/verify test?
Also, to PP asking about u/s that early, I had an NT scan at 12ish weeks and an early anatomy scan around 15 or 16 weeks, plus the big u/s at 20 weeks. Insurance has covered all of this. I thought it was standard. I didn't ask for all of these extra u/s, my doctor strongly recommended them.

I'm not covered for those blood tests since I'm not yet 35.
I am actually having an us Monday to check cervical length since I've had cervical surgery. They have decided to do a NY scan then as well. I go to my OB in two weeks where he wants to do another one. I don't know why so many but I've had about 5 already because I was under the care of a fertility clinic. I had one us a week starting at 6 weeks before I was discharged at 8 weeks to my OB who has done two already.
I'm anxious to know the sex but I'm not expecting anything at 14 weeks. Just saw it on my app that it is possible so I was wondering about the odds.

I had a friend who found out at 15 weeks, and another whose tech made an educated guess at the 12 week NT scan that turned out to be correct. I'd personally rather wait until 18-20 weeks so they can be more sure but there's no harm in asking!
They might wager a guess at 14 weeks, but it's not always accurate. They told my friend she was having a girl at 14-15 weeks, but when they went back at 20 weeks, they said, "never mind, it's a boy!" So don't put too much stock into it yet

We had an us at 12 weeks and they guessed boy. I then got a kidney stone and was in the hospital at 14 weeks and they did an us there and they said 100% boy. So I say there is a good chance!

If I remember correctly it's possible at 14 weeks, but maybe more like 40% and the closer you get to 16 weeks it just gets easier and easier by the day because baby is growing a ton during that time and those parts in general are going through the identifying changes.
Last pg I found out at the 20 weeks u/s and I was so worried she'd suddenly grow boy parts by the next u/s or by birth, lol. Funny how your brain can find new things to worry about.
