While we were waiting for our table, there was a family there with a few boys playing around. The woman was sitting next to me and said, "your kids are quiet, my wild boys need to learn from them." So we laughed, and she said something like, "whatever girl they marry is going to have her hands full."
Then my older daughter said, "they can marry boys then, so they can still play!"
And the mom said, "that's so cute. But they won't marry boys. Boys marry girls."
But my daughter said, "they can marry boys. Right, mommy?"
So I said, "that's right, love is love."
Then I could tell the mom started getting annoyed haha. But she just said something like, "that's sweet when they still don't understand what getting married is."
But before I could say anything else, my husband basically said, "she understands. She also understands that people should be able to marry who they love, not who anyone tells them to. She makes us very proud."
Then my younger daughter said, "I not married! I hungry!" with a pissed off face. Lmao!!! Anyway, the mom stopped with her nonsense, and went back to paying attention to her "wild boys." Lol
But I wanted to share that little exchange with you guys. I love my family. (heart)
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
That is AWESOME. You rock for both instilling good values in your kids and for saying something to that woman.
This is exactly what I was going to say!
You have not only done a great job both in teaching your kids values but also taught them how to stand up for them while still being respectful about it. I would have had such a hard time not telling that lady what a narrow minded idiot she is!
