I've been having such a hard time getting back into reading lately. So I picked this one up (after re-reading Thirteen Reasons Why and being on a young adult kick).
I'm so in love with this book. I ended up reading it in one day (in between the regular house chores/to dos) and I just couldn't put it down. I think I was able to focus more because I knew what was going to happen and I wanted to see how it played out.
The writing was great, the perspective was interesting. I'm going to check out his other book, Looking for Alaska. Has anyone read it?
Oh - and I'm not really new, I just haven't been reading so I've had nothing to add. I have already requested Wifey from the library though, so I'm planning to stick around.
I loved this book. I ugly cried through the end. I read Looking for Alaska as well as his other books: An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I enjoyed them all. After TFiOS, Looking for Alaska was my next favorite. Paper Towns was my least favorite of all of them. I hope you stick around. We are not the busiest board, but we have some good discussions. :-)
oh good! I'm glad that I could get confirmation that his others are also good. Another friend recommended Looking for Alaska so I went ahead and requested that and the the other three from the library. I'm excited to read more.
Any other authors you recommend? I'm really trying to read more. I love Joshlyn Jackson but I'm even having a hard time getting into her latest. slump slump slump.

For YA, I like Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss; Lola and the Boy Next Door) and Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor and Park; Fangirl). If you like YA dystopian, my favorite dystopian series is the Legend series by Marie Lu.
What other genres do you like? If you like historical fiction, my favorite authors are Kate Morton and Susanna Kearsley.
I loved TFIOS! For as depressing and as sad as it was, it was also uplifting in its way. I'm really excited for the movie.
I don't think I can handle the movie, at least not in theaters. I ugly-cried through the end of the book. I may have to wait for it to be released on DVD and watch it by myself, lol!

Oh I am definitely watching it by myself at home, LOL. with a box of tissues!! Even the previews made me cry and I thought, "yeahno, not seeing this in public," lol.

I think the only reason I did so well (not a ton of crying) in the book is because I already knew what was going to happen. I'm going to chance the theater. lol I won't be able to wait for DVD.
