My last day is Friday. I'm not due until the 17th but I have a very limited work load since handing things over to my replacements and I work 45 minutes from home/hospital. I made a very exact plan months ago for when I would take leave and I can't imagine sitting at my desk for another 1-2 weeks, just waiting to go into labor.
Anyways...
My boss knows all of this and has been super supportive. Today, she says to me "So Friday is your last day right? But if you feel like it, you'll still be open to coming in on Monday?"
LOL. No. I'm not open to that. I get that each day at home without a baby is a "wasted" maternity leave day but it is opening a can of worms. Monday leads to Tuesday, etc. When does it end? Besides, I already have lunch plans on Monday and Tuesday next week. I can't flake on people!
Ugh, I can commiserate from working before my son was born last time. Those last weeks are so hard since you have to hand stuff off, and clean up your desk everyday, just in case. Hang in there!
Stay strong! I loved having a week off between work and baby. I was so uncomfortable, but I took nice long walks and naps every day. It was lovely.
YES! This is what I'm hoping for. The weather should be really nice next week (high 70's) so I'm hoping to go on walks, although I'm planning on staying close to home. Maybe just laps around my small cul-de-sac. LOL

I was so looking forward to this. I had planned 2 weeks off. The baby came three weeks early I didn't get to do any of my deep cleaning, relaxing, etc.

I am super jealous! Enjoy it. I am hoping I go at least 1 day overdue so that I don't have to take any leave unpaid (I have to use accrued PTO as a teacher and can barely make it to the end of the school year if I go 40+1).
