Ugh. This is the worst. I hate listening to him cry for me. Rocco's latest is wailing and sobbing when I drop him off at daycare. Sticking his chubby little arms through the door trying to grab my hands as I leave.
Mine are being monsters, so I pulled out the big guns. I threatened to call pop pop. They're now sobbing "We'll be good! We'll be gooooooood! Don't caaaaaall hiiiiiiiim!"
I'll admit it cjoy, I can't imagine the HORROR of Mr. Cjoy if your wrath is preferred...
I'm a total sleep fascist, so crying doesn't bother me. Although, it could be that Edith was an angry crier and that was easier to ignore. Freddie seems to be a sad crier, which tugs at my heartstrings a tiny bit. We'll see how it goes when it's time to let him cry it out.
I should sell my sleep training services on Craigslist. "I will come sit outside your kid's door with a monster mask on, and if they come out of their room, I will growl and swat them with a yardstick. $20 an hour."
I got lucky. Edith fell out of her crib once when she was about 2.5 and she busted her lip. I said "This is what happens when you get out of bed without mommy coming to get you!" and she never did it again. To this day, she'll stand in her bed and say "Mom! I'm awake now!"
ETA: I also put her to bed at 9 pm, so she wakes up at 9 am. I don't function well before 9 am.
