That's my life for the next 24 hours. Apparently I had some protein in my urine and the doctor wanted me to do a 24 collection. It's been an eventful morning. I randomly threw up my breakfast before heading to my doctor appointment and now I'm stuck at home so I can collect pee all day. If the protein is elevated, he said he will have me deliver.
Are you ready to deliver now or did you want to wait until closer to your due date?
I'm ready. My due date is next Thursday. If this goes down on Monday, I'm happy with that. I made it pretty far without any complications and I'm still feeling symptom free. I have no other signs of pre-e.

Yay for no other signs of Pre-E. Hoping for an easy delivery of healthy baby!

That is good that everything looks good! I didn't realize your due date was next week - wow!! I was thinking you were still 3-ish weeks out.

Well, at least you're close to your due date - that's a plus right?
On a semi related note, how does a 24 hr collection work if you are working & can't take off... do you just bring a jug with you? Do they make opaque jugs so you can 'disguise' it or do you have to DIY it with pretty duct tape?

I have no idea what I would do if I was at work!!! That would be horrible. Even doing this at home feels strange. There is pee in my fridge!

My OB's office said I could wait until the weekend and then bring it in first thing Monday morning. I don't know how I'd disguise the jug....it's bright orange with a humongous label on the side. Ridiculously ugly (and weird)!

The lab at my hospital is open tomorrow so I'm going to put it in the brown bag they gave me and hope I don't draw attention to myself. Although, I used to drop off my husbands sperm sample at my infertility office so I'm used to transporting body fluids.

I remember doing this. The first time I was really embarrassed b/c I knew everyone knew in that brown bag was a container of splooge but then I realized everyone else there does the same damn thing. It's amazing after the first three how comfortable I was carrying around that little brown bag.

Did you guys see the ML post about LHC's 24 hr urine collection? She did it at work, and put the giant jug in a black backpack stashed under the bathroom sink where it would be inconspicuous.
Until one of her coworkers called in a bomb threat.
She had to explain the jug o pee to the entire office and a bunch of police officers!

LOL - Noooo some how I missed that! That's hilarious!
So pacificrules and catsarecute, how much pee did you all collect in your 24 hours? I feel like I could fill one up in 24 hours with as much as I pee these days!

I'm not sure, but I was surprised that I almost filled the jug. It was big! It was probably around a gallon (but the jug was taller/skinner than a traditional gallon jug so it's hard to tell).

It was exactly a gallon! I had DH stop and get me an extra jug on his way home from work yesterday because I was concerned about filling one and not having an extra. I didn't end up needing it but it was close.

Soon I hope. I'm not sure how the lab works on a Saturday but usually results get posted to the online service 6-7 hours after drop off. My blood test results were posted 7 hours after the draw yesterday. I'm hoping they post and I don't have to wait until my appointment Monday to know what's going on.
