Well I'm fairly certain that none of the regs here are personally harassing anyone. But this isn't a safe place either because you know....the whole damn Internet can find your blog! They didn't need our help.
It's so weird, y'all. She came here using her full name as her username and we were able to discover her full name. We are masters at internet sleuthing.
She also signed her post, remember?
I can't figure out how we managed to find her last name.

We figured it out because we all got the stupidity vaccine.

I want to know what her chances are of making it stick.
And who she'll name as defendants? And how they'll be named? The information I disseminated (important sounding non-lawyer words to make me sound smart) was shared on her own website. Should I be scared?

I am laughing hysterically. You have no idea. How asinine is this woman going to look trying to explain this to a judge?
"See, your honor, I posted this article on the internet that had my full name. And then these people had the audacity to say I was wrong. So I went to defend my spiel of crap, where I used my real name and all my titles and degrees, and they were MEAN TO ME!!!"
I'll show up in court for that. I've been told I have a splendid 'Bitch, please' face.

ProBoards is not liable for comments posted by third parties. However, you can be liable yourself if you are posting harassing messages. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act makes ProBoards immune from such lawsuits (they can file it, but they will lose, and we will file to get our attorneys fees back). You, the users, are responsible for what you post. When dealing with such situations, it's best to focus on facts, not letting your emotions say things that can be construed by a court as harassing. Posting harassing comments is against the law, but we (ProBoards) are not required to remove such postings. But you can absolutely be held accountable for what you post.
I'm curious what the definition of harassing is for this purpose. Because as far as I know, none of us have contacted her directly and I don't think anyone followed her to her blog. So . . .
But it's not as if anyone posted anything about her that wasn't true. No one threatened her or her family. She chose to use her own name as her screen name.
