Hi ladies, I'm not a regular over here but I lurk a lot and figured you would have the best ideas I'm looking to book a (surprise) 10 year anniversary trip for my DH and I. We would go over Christmas, probably leaving xmas day and coming back 1/2. I can't decide if we should go back to Antigua where we honeymooned or someplace else.
A little background, we both enjoy do-nothing, beach vacations so an all inclusive would be fine. My DH isn't really a fan of a lot of activities, he likes to stay put once we get someplace. We also have not had a vacation with just the two of us since the kids have been born - so 8 years. We've gone away for a night or two but nothing out of the country or even out of state . I'd love to hear any ideas anyone might have! We could fly out from either PA, NJ or NY, would love a flight not longer than 8-10 hours if possible. Would love to keep it as financially friendly as possible but that's not my number one concern.

My H and I used to travel every year between Christmas and New Year's and have done a few islands, including Antigua. Honestly, Antigua wasn't one of our favorites - mostly because the beaches were all churned up the entire time we were there so it wasn't great for swimming or snorkeling.
If you're looking for budget friendly, I'd suggest Dominican Republic, Jamaica or Mexico. All will be warm enough to enjoy the beach and there are plenty of AI resorts in each place. The DR will probably be your cheapest bet. There's not much to do outside of the resorts there, but if you're content to just stay in one place, this might be a good choice for you.
I haven't stayed at any of these, but you might check out Excellence, Dreams or Iberostar resorts in Punta Cana. I'm pretty sure all of those are adult-only. I had a friend stay at Excellence and loved it. The others I can't comment on, but I'm sure Trip Advisor has a lot of reviews.
Not the cheapest island but we LOVED Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. It is perfect for laying around doing nothing but if you do want an activity or two, I recommend a half day snorkel trip with Island Vibes and a horseback ride on the beach/in the ocean with Provo Ponies. Have a meal at Coco Bistro!
We also enjoyed St. Maarten, Anguilla and St. John when we have visited via cruises.

I loved Turks and Caicos. Definitely a good place if you want to do nothing or very few activities. We did a half day snorkel trip with Caicos Dreams that was awesome. We also took bikes out from the resort one day, biked around, and did some shopping.
We are going back to our honeymoon spot for our 10 year anniversary because it was fantastic. We stayed at the Bucuti Resort in Aruba in the Tara Suites. This a more boutique resort on the smaller Eagle Beach in Aruba. We did eat breakfast and lunch there every day but then went out to dinner every night. So many great restaurants on the island. I felt much more comfortable leaving the resort in Aruba than I ever did when we'd do AI's in Mexico or the DR. Good luck with your planning.
We're leaving for our honeymoon in 4 weeks to the Turks & Caicos and have heard amazing things! can't wait!
I've been to St John a ton of times (rent a house and a jeep) and there are tons of housing options that won't make you break the bank. It's the best place honestly and the beaches are stunning. We would go to a different beach every single day and one was always more gorgeous than the last.
If you rent a house, you could could ocok some of your meals like breakfast etc to save some cash. But it's truly heaven!
